please take the time to have a look at my latest st simeon creations leoearle.com/simeon

what do you think of them as catholics?

im trying to think up a way of exhibiting this series that provokes a sense of yearning for ‘littleness’ … a method that is both paradoxically grande (such as projecting the animations onto tower block at night) + simple (such as 4 frame comic strips) at the same time - any ideas?

I wish I could provide some really creative ideas, but you are much more creative than I. I viewed your cartoons. They were good; but, for me, they did not evolk the kind of experience you are looking for. I do not think most people know who St. Simeon was.

I used to spend allot of time with a friend of mine reading and discussing the wisdom of St. Simeon. Unfortunately, my friend is gone and the book lost.

God bless! Keep up your work!

Hi, Leao,

I particularly liked the first in your series, the one you
put on here about 7 weeks ago.

I did think that that caught St. Simon pretty well,
and using a modern high rise is a marvelous idea.

Somehow, you’ve might come up with a way of
conveying who St. Simon was [a very brief opening
panel…like the old Dick Tracy comic, with the
crimestoppers little text at the beginning of* each
strip, so the viewer can put your work in context]

It takes time to pull an idea together to your
satisfaction. The great comic writer P.G.Wodehouse
said that he often wrote 125,000 word scenario
before he began to write the book itself.
Patience, patience…and more patience… which
all artists have to bring to their work, hard as it is.

Keep them coming, OK, Leao? :clapping:

Best,
reen

I’m inadequate, and loving it!:o
