I’m so sorry you’ve come across so many bad Mormons. That is just awful. I’ve met some racist Mormons, for sure, but nowhere on the scale that you seem to have. In my experience, the Mormon people I have met and known have been wonderful people with not an inkling of racism in them. For those Mormons that are blind to their own bigotry, it is a tragedy.

I can tell that this is something that you care very deeply about, and I think that is wonderful.

I enjoy your posts. Thanks. Paul has had a really tough life. He is intellectually brilliant, and sometimes his tenderness coupled with a tinge of regret shows in his posts. Other times, the bitterness surfaces like a story that never ends, or life’s baggage that can’t be put down.

I am grateful for a gospel of change and forgiveness, and the growth that comes from that which brings heartfelt peace and genuine love and compassion. I have found those qualities in so many blacks (mostly Protestants I’ve known) and in the Latin culture in general. It is precious when it is seen and felt suffusing the atmosphere around such people.

Amen to that. When Christ offered the fulfillment of Isaiah 61:1-3, He was indeed offering to “save us from ourselves” and the “prisons” we build for ourselves by our traditions and poor choices including all of the imperfections of those traditions and poor choices, mine included. I need saving just as much as anyone else. Peaceful day to you, Rebecca.

I suppose that there are some decent people at the COB who are very distressed at the bigotry of many Mormons. Perhaps they ought to speak up. NAWW-- they are afraid they will be called Korihors. 🤷

That part has some real meaning for me.

Bigotry…of the MORMONS???

TO them, yes. AGAINST them…you betcha…but OF?

Since I’ve been here about, oh, nine months now, I can honestly say that this statement still has the power to make my jaw drop, considering the sort of …stuff…that people write about Mormons and Mormonism in here.

Perhaps you should review that thread? There is nothing from me on it that even remotely says what you claim it does. In fact, at the risk of being…rude…I will say that your claim here is considerably more than an ‘exaggeration.’ It’s an out and out…misstatement of fact.

But thank you for posting the link. Those who are wondering what you are talking about can go back, read through it for themselves, and find out that your claim is…
