Curious if anyone out there is watching the new television series: Mars.

Any comments? Critiques?

I saw the first episode.

Not quite impressed. Why on earth, pun intended, would they start off with a catastrophic emergency? Everybody already knows that space is dangerous.

Will see if E2 is any better.

I wasn’t impressed with it either. It reminded me of the movie last year when Tom Hanks(?) was stranded. I don’t understand why they find this on the first episode either, but then I’m not much of a sci Fi fan either. I think it’s always interesting too that they make sure to put a diverse cadet of characters in it and include women,Asians and Russians and assuming we’ll be one happy world by 2050. Nice if this happens, but a little unrealistic with our history.

Because in this series the goal is not an exploratory mission, but a colony, they had to have women.

And such a colony is undoable as a single-nation project.

Blame Gene Roddenberry for that:)
