I recently heard rumors from some friends at my parish about the TLM coming to another parish in Louisville. I was sceptical, but then I found this. guardianangels.catholicweb.com/index.cfm/NewsItem?ID=305183&From=Home

I’m not sure when they’ll start having it, but I’m glad to know that the EF is finally coming to another parish in Louisville that is in good standing with Rome. The 8 A.M Mass time is a bit too early for me though, so I’ll most likely still continue going to the one at St. Martin of Tours, since I also like their 11:00 OF.

If anyone has any aditional information on this, please post it here.

Deo Gratias !

They must have started, because it’s listed on the site’s Mass schedule. Thanks for the heads up.

Btw, there has, in the past few years, been a Midnight Mass EF at the chapel in the old St Anthony hospital. I’ll try and find out if Fr. Charles is planning to pray it this year, his health permitting,

Please pray for him. TBolt1000T, were you at St Martins today ? I didn’t make it and was wondering if Fr Charles prayed Mass today.

I was at St. Martin’s today. unfortunately though, I was only able to stay for the OF, because I thought the band I’m in was going to practice this afternoon, which ended up being canceled. I’ll probably be able to get a hold of my friend in the Latin Mass choir tomorrow, and I’ll be able to answer your question then. Fr. Beach said it last week, and since he’s back in town for the Holidays, he probably said it again today.

I’ll pray for Fr. Charles. He definitely needs our prayers.

I also live in the Lousiville area 👍 I’ve been attending Fr. S’s Mass for the past 11 years. Before he starting to say the Mass during the week at St. Martins (and St. Anthony’s), he used to say it privately at 6:00 AM when he was at Resurrection.

Regarding the new Mass at Fr. L’s Church. It is confirmed that he will be saying the Old Mass each Sunday at 8:00AM. He was previously stationed at another Church in the area (New Haven, KY), and also had the Old Mass there for a while. He attended the FSSP training a few years ago.

Cool!

I can’t make it at that time on Sunday’s but I am very happy to see a daily confession schedule at that parish that I can make. I’ll be going there tomorrow morning, Lord willing.

I went to St. Martin’s this morning for the 0715 Mass. At Trent, I am not sure if the priest was Fr. Charles or not. He kinda looked like the man in the picture and was a bit frail using a solid black cane.

Needless to say, I’ll be attending morning Mass there again sometime.

Do you have any idea how big Fr. L’s church is compared to St. Martin’s? I’ve heard that it’s a new parish, but don’t quote me on that.

I don’t know. I’ve never been to his new Church.

It’s good to see younger OF priests going through the FSSP training. I hope that more priests in the Louisville area will be willing to do it. I know that Fr. K at St. Martin’s completed it recently, but unfortunately, I’ve never had the chance yet to attend one of his EF Masses. I believe that he only says the EF once a month.

There is a Priests in Elizabethtown who was supposed to attend the FSSP training with Fr. L, but something came up at the last minute. I’m not sure if he ever made it to the traning. Regarding Fr. K, he was saying the Mass on Thursday mornings at St. Martins, while Fr. S said it at St. Anthonys. I don’t know if that is still the case.

I was only going by what I was told by another paritioner, but you’re probably right. I’m just now getting back into the loop at St. Martin’s myself.

No, that isn’t father Charles. I know who you are speaking of, but Fr Charles would have been at the St Antony chapel on Monday.

Guardian Angels was built in 1957. Kind of an A frame church.

I was there on Sunday at the EF Mass… It was Fr K that was there, I didn’t see Fr Charles at all, I hope he’s ok.
I looked for you Tbolt, but didn’t see you when I got there about noon-ish.
FYI, there is a group on Facebook for locals in the Louisville area that like the Latin Mass (although I haven’t been able to go yet). I heard that last month Fr L spoke at the meeting. The group is here- facebook.com/group.php?gid=115300511819965

If it’s in the TARC 3 service area, I may try to go down to Guardian Angels within the next month or so, and check it out. If it’s near Southern High School, the bus should be able to get me there, because they’ve taken me to a buddy’s house near the school before.

Umm, I know nothing about TARC schedules or areas. If my car breaks down and I need to take the bus, I’m in trouble lol. If it helps the address is 6000 Preston Hwy

Yeah, I talked to Cindy a little while ago, and she told me that it was Fr. K, and that he says the EF the first Sonday of every month. I guess that’s why he didn’t say the OF yesterday. If I would have known sooner that band practice was going to be canceled, I could have stayed for both Masses. We seldom have band practice on Sunday, but it was the only day this week that everyone was supposed to be available.

Well, next week I’ll be at the 11am Mass instead because we have our meeting at 1pm (early Vespers and a Profession!! yay!)

Hey Rachel, if either you or At Trent decide to go down to Guardian Angels for the 8 o’clock Mass within the next fiew weeks, plese just let me know, and we could meet down there.

On a side note, if I’m not still sick on Wednesday, I plan on going to the EF at St. Martin’s for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. When I called the parish, the lady told me that it was going to be at 6 P.M., so I made my reservations for my ride accordingly. Since it’s a major Marian feast, maybe it’ll be a solemn high Mass like the one they had back in August for the Feast of the Assumption. I hope so, because I only got to hear part of the one for the Assumption from the St. Gregory chapel and the back of the church while I was waiting for the bus, and I’d like to hear one up close.

This is GREAT news! I absolutely love the TLM at St. Martin’s and go every week. I’ve always had such great experiences there–with the exception of a fainting episode that occured a few weeks ago, but that only happened once. 🙂 I’ll definately try and go to the new 8:00 AM TLM once I can. I’ve never seen the church, though. Does anyone have a picture of the inside?

That was you that fainted? I prayed for you. I’m so glad you’re ok.
