New to NFP

Where to go for info about NFP? My upbringing (non-catholic) was very supportive of birth control, and NFP is totally new to me. I didn’t even realize until recently that there are different methods?
Any suggestions for books or websites I can go to for comparison of the different methods? Any opinions about which method is best?
 
I would first off contact your local Catholic diocese office and find out if there are any LOCAL classes in your area because having local teachers to talk to and ask questions to is extremely helpful - regardless of the method.

Yes, there are several methods… including, but not limited to:
Mucous-only methods:
Billings
Creighton

Mucous and Fertility monitor:
Marquette

Sympto-Thermal Method (monitors mucous, cervical position, and basal body temperature):
MANY courses and teachers - (google)
 
I recently compiled the following list for another thread:

Couple to Couple League (taught by practicing couples and makes use of multiple fertility signs)
Creighton Model (taught by medical professionals and uses one major fertility sign)
Marquette (taught by medical professionals and uses multiple signs, including a computerized hormone monitor)
Billings Method (similar to Creighton)
NFP and More (similar to Couple to Couple League)

It would be best to find out which system has teachers nearby you and select from that. CCL and NFP and More have home study options if there is nobody local. Your diocese should be able to help you, as well.
 
We went to a class from Couple to Couple League. Then we bought the app called OvuView for android. Works great so far. We have a 3 year old rand a 13 month old. We are spacing out our third one and have not had any problems with it so far.
