There is no traditonal “order.” The Church stopped created orders with the Orders of Friars Minor, I believe – centuries before the idea of “traditionalism.”
Not true. The Jesuits and Missionaries of the Holy Spirit are but two examples of religious orders that came after the Franciscans.

It’s just an attempt at precision in language (which I would add is well beyond what the typical Catholic is interested in). The Jesuits, for example, are not an order but a society.

:gopray2: A widening of the general indult to celebrate the Mass of Pope Pius V would completely solve the whole problem. Overnight the SSPX would be irrelevant, and traditionalist priests, institutes and societies would simply become leaders (ahead of the curve) in the worldwide Catholic Church. As for SSPX priests; their main excuse for staying at odds with the Vatican would be eliminated. In effect; the wind would be taken out of the sails of the SSPX and redirected toward traditional Catholics within the canonical structures of the Catholic Church.
That’s interesting. It almost sounds too simple. I wonder what the challenges would be if this were to happen.

Lux Aurumque got it right. Refer back to post #8 on this thread.

Also, note that FSSP not only takes in ex-SSPX’ers but outstanding young men to the priesthood. I was told there is a waiting list for admission.

Holy Rosary, in Portland, OR just welcomed back the newly ordained Father Joseph Lee, formerly of that parish from the FSSP seminary. It was a beautiful Solemn High Mass (Tridentine 1962).
