Contact your local diocese, they should be able to assist you.

You need to be at least 40.

Some dioceses might not want an annulled man. I hope they want you, but I do believe there are some who don’t accept them.

Then the diaconate formation takes a few years of part-time study, then ordination and service in a parish.

You are in my prayers.

Thank you for that information and prayers. I know that God’s will be done no matter which way I look, so thank you very much

Thank you I am a little surprised how much support I have in our own congregation, however thank you. If I am aaccepted on not it is always an honour to serve Our Lord in which ever way comes our way.
Even just to know Him brings tears to our eyes.

our diocese has just re-implemented the diaconate formation program, after a hiatus of over 10 years. I believe candidates had to be over 35, married at least 10 years if married, and could not be over 55 when formation is completed (3-5 years). they have classes 3 nights and one weekend a month and are supposed to be active in some parish ministry as well. Wives of candidates had a weekend discernment retreat as well. New Catholics may not enter diaconate formaton or seminary until at least 3 years after RCIA.

I hope it’s not that stringent here because I am 58 tears, tears,. I’ll have to ask again because our priest told me to consider presenting myself for the position. I know Jesus will have His way though. Thank you

I don’t think the upper age limit is common.

I personally would like to see deacons who have served 25 years ordained priests, married or not. I think they have earned it. But that’s another story…🙂

I’m not too sure exactly what you mean by deacons who have served 25yrs ordained priests. may be I lack understanding, please?

Deacons who have been deacons for 25 years. What part are you struggling with (no mocking intended).
