It’s amusing that they’re being referred to as a “new” community. They’ve been around for about a decade now, if I remember correctly.
What’s new is that they now have sui iuris status within their eparchy. This means they no longer rely on the governance of another monastery (I believe they were somehow tied to Holy Resurrection Monastery, but I could be wrong on that), and they now have their own typikon (rule of life) to follow.
