I’m going to quit drinking alcohol, eat healthier, start praying more, get the 2006 St Joseph guide for my Christian prayer book and resume praying the LOTH as often as possible. I really have some work to do, I’ve slipped in my spiritual life. I also want to be more positive about other people and not gossip.

If you backslide a little, get back up. That’s the difference between saints and sinners. Both fall down, but the saints get back up and try again! That’s the beauty of our faith, reconciliation. And with all things, keep praying.

Personally, last year I added going to daily mass and I have kept that resolution pretty much. It has made such a big impact on my life, that I encourage others to try it as well. Even adding an extra week day mass or a Sat.morning mass makes a difference as well. Good luck to you! Any major lifestyle change particularly when it comes to addictions will be a move towards “Life!” A beautiful thing to protect.

Personally, this habit of making new-year resolutions is foreign to me. As a matter of fact, I think that Lent is a more appropriate period for us to steer our lives to the Lord by opening our souls to His will.

So, I myself am not making any resolution today, at least no special one. Of course, as a sinner, I make resolutions everyday to change my heart, by the grace of God.

:blessyou:

something different happened here this year…

At our mid-day meal my family agreed to try something new.

We grouped and chose New Year resolutions for each other! Actually we chose two for each other…a primary resolution and secondary resolution…I’ve typed them down and will pull them out a year from now to see just how much we’ve changed.

It was more funny and practical to have someone choose a resolution for me.

This hardly seems like a spiritual resolution, but it is prompted by love ❤️ for my husband. My New Years Resolution is to get a handle on our family’s finances and balance the checking account monthly. I used to do the financial record keeping, but for the past few years I let all the burden fall on him. We spoke about it recently and he requested that I do it again. This will mean sacrificing some of my time here at CA forums. I’m posting here to hold myself accountable because this is where I spend much of my free time. Happy New Years!:dancing:

To soften my heart, exercise it in good intentions regardless of the outcome.Tim
