How can one even describe this? I was flabberghasted when I saw this. When is our nation going to wake up and save itself. Learn the lesson from the fall of Rome. We’re headed towards that direction very, very, very fast!

I loved how they accentuated the positive. “Teen pregnancies are down from 10 to 7%”. Wow. Did you want a cookie for that?

LOL

I like cookies…

Empires come and go, but the Church shall always remain.

But ARE pregnancies down, or are abortions up? Are there just fewer live births and more dead babies? 😦

Bones…I can totally understand this…who they heck wants to live in NYC and raise kids…not most folks!

The health department is also attributing the drop to the dramatic decline in the number of girls younger than age 20 having babies. In 1992, teenage girls had 13,795 of the 136,002 babies born in the city, while in 2005 they had 8,579 of the 122,725 born. In other words, the overall births declined, but teen births declined more steeply.

How is a drop in teen prenancies bad?

But are pregnancies really going down, or are abortions just going up? Are there the same or more pregnant teens who are just having abortions more frequently? Then that is bad. Very bad. Abortions also include use of chemicals, like the morning after pill, and would not necessarily be counted along with surgical abortions in the numbers. That is the part that scares me, that those murders are not even recognized.

Perhaps the teen birth rate declined 1992-2005 because there were fewer teens-many of their peers having been aborted-just a thought.

NYC is the abortion capital of the world.
I thought I read somewhere where HALF of all NYC women had had an abortion! I will try and look that up - I read it at a very reputable site a long while ago. I was stunned.

Even more worrisome is that if you look at the high birthrate of Muslims in many Muslim countries its 7 births per woman! Our birthrate in the US is 2.11. The worrisome part is that peaceful muslims are not worrisome its the radical ones that are worrisome. Little tiny Yemon by 2050 will have a higher population than all of empty Russia…

This is what we have to contend with:

gothamist.com/archives/2006/01/15/opinionist_lets.php

For every 100 babies born in New York City, women had 74 abortions in 2004, according to newly released figures that reaffirm the city as the abortion capital of the country.
And abortions for out-of-town women performed in the city increased from 57 to 70 out of every 1,000 between 1996 and 2004, a subtle yet noticeable trend that experts say may reflect growing hurdles against the procedure in more conservative parts of the country.

The new Vital Statistics report released by the city Department of Health this month shows there were 124,100 live births, 11,700 spontaneous abortions and 91,700 induced abortions in the city in 2004.
**
That means 40 out of 100 pregnancies in the city ended in a planned abortion - almost double the national average of 24 of 100 pregnancies in 2002, estimated by the Alan Guttmacher Institute, a Manhattan-based nonprofit group that researches reproductive health issues.**

more stats

– Abortions in New York City for out-of-town women increased from 57 to 70 of every 1,000 between 1996 and 2004.

On the same day, New York Magazine gave more insight into why the city is the country’s abortion capital:

– The ratio of abortions to births is one to one in some parts of the city.

– New York City has “more abortions performed on minors, more repeat abortions and more late abortions (over 21 weeks)” than any other United States city.

– Seven of every 10 abortions performed in New York state occur in its most populous city.

– There are 34 clinics in New York City that perform more than 400 abortions apiece each year.

“New York City has fashioned itself as being the philosophical center of ‘abortion on demand,’ and it has a thriving industry to show for it,” Christina Fadden Fitch told the Daily News. Fitch is legislative director of the New York State Right to Life Committee.

And if in 2008 we have Democrat Congress, a Democrate Senate, and a Democrat such as Hilliary or Obama as President I guarantee you those “murder” rates will go WAY UP as they relax restrictions EVEN MORE.

That is true. That means these women now up to 33 1/2 years are the the post Roe vs. Wade children. Now there is less of them which in turn less children because the few allowed to live were posioned by their pro-choice parents and now they in turn will choose which child will live and which shall die, as to not inconvience their lives.:hmmm:

If it is because of abortions I would say it is horrendous but if peiple are just deciding to have fewer children I would not worry about it.

Good thing Christ was born 2000 years ago.

Would he have been born in todays culture of death?

He was born in a culture of death, as Herod tried to make sure He was killed,as a newborn-all his peers were killed-He survived because an Angel appeared to Joseph, and they escaped.

I travel both in heavily populated areas and in rural areas that have sustained significant population declines over the past several decades. My observation has been that the sparser the population the greater the publicly expressed opposition to abortion. (Billboards, bumper stickers, etc.)

Right now, South Dakota is in the news for having passed a restrictive abortion bill. South Dakota is sparsely populated. By contrast, New York and California are more heavily populated.

Is there some kind of natural selection working here?

Very interesting hypothesis. I live in rural Iowa, and there are signs all over the place, especially in NW Iowa that oppose abortion. Hummmmm…
