New Zealand contraception issue

This my country’s latest brain fart. I voted for tehse people last election, they will not be getting my vote in the next one.

I’ve been to WINZ before for a benefit, and they are forceful and threatening, they hold the power of money over you, and when you are in dire straits finanically you’ll do just about anything they want to get that; they have stupid “work schools” they send you too, you have to attend job interviews for jobs that are in no way appropriate, they can even cut you off without any notice - happened to me a few times - despite it being illegal.

Pray they change their minds on this.
 
The annoying thing is abortions and contraceptives are cheap as chips down here. In fact, the govt. pays for abortions. To have the social welfare ministry get their sticky little beaks in is just sickening - an unnescessary from a logistics point of view.

Because isn’t it how it starts, first the poor, then who’s next, the mentally unwell and physically/intellectual special needs? Where to from there? The coloured people? Maybe the Jews? Or what about those Catholics, they don’t like that there birth control!

History has shown us this formular before, Didn’t work out well.
 
Right on about that! Isn’t controlling money and labor how the Bolshevik’s started their coup? And Hitler began with sterilizations, abortions and euthanizing the “unfit”? Why is this now happening all over the world? Is there anywhere to go now besides Malta?

Yeah I just heard this on the news. How demoralizing for those on benefits. Social engineering and a dangerous one.

I was mad when I read about this this morning.

Now I’m just sad. A TV poll found 82% of people support this.

Have we become so blind? Even if the moral issue wasn’t there, it boils down to numbers. The beneficiaries tend to have larger families, while the rich, “enlightened” folk have small families, if any children at all. And not all the children of beneficieries become dole bludgers themselves - our Prime Minister was raised by a single mum on a benefit in a state home!!

Where the heck does that 82% think their pension is going to come from? We are contracepting/aborting ourselves into one heck of a demographic winter.

The world is heading for doomsday - a demographic one.
A couple of weeks ago, I’ve seen a National Geographic show on imaginary disasters. On that particular episode, it talked about overpopulation. I facepalmed at that show, since the world is heading towards the opposite disaster.

Many people in Western countries whine about getting more and more entitlements (such as the Occupy movement) and yet they are ironically contributing to the demise of their entitlements. What do I mean? I am talking about financial entitlements such as more pensions. Since there are fewer and fewer youth to contribute to the pensions, it would make sense that if a county is in a state where there are more people asking for pensions than those who can provide it through taxation, then it would inevitably cause problems. Instead of supporting population control, why don’t these groups and governments try to reverse the looming demographic winter?

Surprisingly, in my sociology class we were talking about demographics, and my professor said that now more people are starting to realize the fact that the population is declining. In Germany (where the birth rate is in the commode), those having more children are getting more benefits.!

I don’t know. Isn’t abortion legal there? I thought Malta and the Vatican were the only places it wasn’t legal. Is the Phillipines socialist? It just seems like every nation has some form of that going on. The good thing about the Phillipines, from what I know, is that it is still predominantly Catholic. And it is beautiful.

Abortion, contraception and divorce are all illegal in the Philippines. 😃
And no, the Philippines is not run by socialists.

That is somewhat hard to believe. Some may realize it, but most deny it and keep contracepting. I did read that an Italian mayor was offering land to people who had more than one child. He was not getting many people to take him up on it.

Even if people do wake up and start having families, maybe its too late. We’ve lost so many people to abortion and contraception it will take a few generations to correct. But were not raising this generation to stop it!

Try telling that to the liberal-progressives here in Manila, and most of them will either laugh at you at best or attack you at worst. They are blissfully unaware that if their population control policies pass, the Philippines would join the likes of Japan and South Korea in the list of countries that are going into demographic winter. And that, is truly melancholic.
