Hey folks
I have a question. I met a girl online a couple of days ago and we have only talked a couple of times. Shes asked me what my beliefs as a Catholic are. And I know what the Catholic beliefs are I'm not sure how to put it in an email to someone I barely know (make sense?). What are some things I should tell her? And what are some good links to show her? I hope this doesn't sound silly.

The creeds would be good to include, I think. There’s my two cents, lol.

If I was in your situation, I would first talk about Jesus and His whole life. Describe how YOU believe He is the real blood and Body of God. Tell her your belief on how the world was created (this might become a strong conversation starter). Also another good topic would be the dedication to Mary, as many other beliefs don’t recognize her whatsoever as a Saint. Those are my three points I would start out with, if you would like some more tips, just ask. 🙂

Start with the Nicene Creed.

Your question doesn’t sound silly at all!

The creeds are a great place to start. Why don’t you also read a bit of the Catechism and try to “summarize” it?

I like the idea of sending the Nicene Creed. I would also add, because the interpretation of the word “Catholic” in that creed differs among Christians, that we believe that Jesus started the Catholic Church who today acts under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to give grace and help us get to heaven.
