I don’t mean to be a spoil sport, but really, it doesn’t look like they are praying. The bride actually looks quite upset. At first glance, it looks like they are breaking up

If this photo was published in the Washington Times, is there an article to go with it? A news item that verifies they were praying?

This couple appeared on Fox News a few hours ago, when they spoke about the prayer they made then in this photo.

I really don’t know why they are making such a big deal of this photo myself.
The bride does looks like she is crying.
Otherwise, I hope they have a happy life!

There are a ton of this type of photo on Pinterest.

ETA: From Buzzfeed.
Thanks. While it is lovely, it is really not that novel an idea. Yes, I have seen the tons of similar pics like this on Pinterest.

I am too traditional… Wouldn’t want to risk being seen. It kind of takes away the unique moment of being together up on the altar to be together elsewhere first. Isn’t the wedding mass or service where they will be praying together anyway?

But is it tradition, or superstition, that says the groom must not see the bride before the wedding? Or is it both?

Has anyone in this thread seen his/her spouse-to-be before the wedding and had something go wrong? Can it accurately be blamed on breaking this superstition?
