I don’t the school was very discerning here, and could have handled these two girls in-house. Just doesn’t sound like a realistic serious threat.

These are some troubled children. Prayers for them and their families.

Another sad case of mentally disturbed kids. I hope they get the help they need and glad they were caught before they harmed someone.

Jesus Saves…

Pass it on to atheist parents that don’t put their kids in church

The motivations which draw people to practice satanic rites are quite diverse, among which can be found: the idea of obtaining material advantages of various types even to the detriment of other persons; the desire of confronting society in an eccentric and belligerent way; a morbid attraction for what is fearful and horrid, dictated perhaps by the unconscious desire of exorcizing personal phobias; the violent response to traumas suffered, sometimes even in childhood; the desire for the acquisition of particular powers thought to be obtained by means of occult knowledge and the participation in certain rites; the satisfaction of sexual deviations through unusual experiences based on something obscure and ritual.

I doubt these kids were true Satanists. They apparently had been watching horror movies all weekend and after they killed a bunch of classmates were going to kill themselves so they could go be with Satan.

It sounds like the Slenderman murder attempt to be honest, where the two girls were going to kill their friend and then run away to live with Slenderman. The girl who instigated that was mentally ill with the same disease her father had had. I’m guessing something similar here.

Women do not usually commit violent murders, but a fair number of girls in twos have done such things. Often it is a sort of exaggeration of clique activity - me and you against the world.

So yeah, this time it is supposedly Satan instead of something else, but I bet it still boils down to crazy peer pressure.

It also reminds me of the “Heavenly Creatures” case where two girls actually did murder the one girl’s mother.

Young girls can get very close and kind of live in their own fantasy world. If one or both of them are disturbed or angry, then killing can become part of the fantasy. It’s a folie a deux.

Yeah, but I think in the case of two very young kids, it’s more thrill seeking and trying to be all edgy and cool.

There was a news report a few years ago about this type of behavior elsewhere. The children were slaying other children and claiming they would turn into vampires although a select few knew the deaths were a sacrifice to baphomet.

What I was trying to say is that we need to teach our children to avoid traps.

When I was in basic training during the Vietnam war, one of the drill instructors said that the Viet Cong were completely incompetent and if they shot you, it was because it was a lucky shot. A kid in the back of the platoon then asked, “sergeant, does a lucky shot leave you just as dead as a good one?”
These girls may be just play acting, responding to adolescent peer pressure, have watched one too many scary movies, or any of a number of “excuses” offered by adults. But had they carried out their plot, the victims would be just as dead as if Dracula himself drained them.
I wouldn’t be so quick to try to explain this one away. Normal kids with abnormal ideas, wherever they came from, can be just a deadly as the psychotic serial killer.

You make an excellent point.
If somebody kills you, youre equally dead regardless of the motivation.

I’m not sure it’s explaining it away as much as asking what the options are.

If the motivation is primarily mental illness, for example, then there’s no real likelihood that protecting them from outside influences would help.

Satanists specifically target kids this age because they are mentally insecure and desire to rebel against their parents and fit in. That’s why we need to pray for and protect young teens from this infiltration.

Hmm I don’t know…I think this is a bit beyond trying to be edgy and cool.
