News Story: The Fake Catholic Seer in Denver Who Spoils Peoples' Lives

The Archdiocese of Denver has warned about this supposed visionary, who has gained many followers but whose predictions about the future haven’t occurred.

“People were putting their lives on hold — delaying college, or putting off starting a family — and some were moving out of cities and storing up supplies in refuges. And who wouldn’t, if what Johnston was saying were true?”

“Here are some of his predictions from a 2015 talk in Birmingham, Alabama: There would be no 2016 presidential election because we would be in the midst of a ‘storm’ culminating in a global civil war and a total crash of the world economy”…

A lot of his supporters will hang on to him, just like Mary Carberry’s disciples. His own words are proof that he considers himself to be still a goer. 🤷
 
I think I’ve read this guy’s predictions. I think he believed there would be a coup of the current president. He has said if these predictions don’t come to pass, he will shut down his website. I’m sure he really thinks his messages are from God since he gave up his life and lives like a hermit in the middle of the woods somewhere. This is why it is so dangerous to believe everything we see, even if it feels like a mystical experience. I don’t put much thought into any visionaries, even ones that are considered “worthy of belief” by the Church. We do not have to believe any of them for salvation. So, why lose sleep over it. Really, what “messages” have given us insight into Christ or helped us on our way to salvation? I don’t think any have given us anything the Bible hasn’t given us, or the Eucharist has given us. So, I don’t put much stock in any visions or messages. I’d say the only good thing about them, is that they have brought some people to Christ who weren’t following Him before, but if the messages end up false, what happens to these people?
