I strongly urge the original poster to go to www.pop.org and read their materials. Catholics are denying a problem exists because a problem does not exist with overpopulation. People are so indoctrinated by this because this lie has been forced upon the masses ever since the 1800’s. Even though Malthus’ theories have been disproven time and again since then, the lie seems plausible and people are pushing it because it enables them to get things like birth control and abortion legalized. If you don’t believe people with an agenda are in control of our public education systems, try to remember the last time you heard birth control or Margaret Sanger brought up in a negative light in a classroom. I had no idea she was a eugenicist who wanted the black population reduced. Balanced education would have mentioned that, even if they believe contraception is a good thing.
You seem to be falling away from Catholic philosophy because the lies the rest of the world tells are easier to swallow. It’s hard to believe in the truth when the rest of the world says you’re an ignorant fool. Talk it over sincerely with God and ask Him to show you what the truth of the matter is and be sure you’re completely open to the truth no matter how hard it may be to live it. At least if you come to the same conclusions, you’ll be able to say you gave the Church’s teachings a sincere and honest listen. If you’re a Catholic, you owe the Church at least that.
