I’m wondering if anyone else has any experience or advice for this type of situation. It seems to occur more frequently than before. Perhaps it has something to do with aging, but I’m only in my 30s.

So, yesterday, I confirmed that we were in the clear for relations. My temperature pattern over the past 5 days wasn’t particularly strong, but it was still enough above the LTL. My mucus pattern strongly indicated that I was past the fertile window and I had definitely experienced (like super painful!) ovulation pain several days ago. Hubby and I um, engaged in the act last night, and now my temp has dropped back down to the LTL. So, after waiting patiently for the “safe” time, now I fear I could be pregnant again. Hopefully, tomorrow my temps will go up again and af will be back soon, but until then, I’ll have to worry.

I sure hope I’m not pregnant, I’m having a hard time coping with my life as it is. And there is hardly anyone I can talk to, nearly everyone I know uses contraception and I’m not ready to hear about how “irresponsible” I’ve been by not using BC. Not that I have reason to believe that my friends/family would say that, but I’m not willing to take that chance.

Anyone know what might be causing this and how to avoid this in the future?

I suspect this is just the end of your cycle.
Yes, your temp should dip right before your cycle if you’re not pregnant. If your luteal phase is short, less than 11 days, consider seeing your doctor. It could signal low progesterone levels or some other things that warrant a check-up. Have you noticed any other symptoms?

I have had some cycles like that in recent months. Normally, my temp pops back up the next day. It scared me the first time it happened too. My body is still pretty out of whack after 5 straight years of pregnancy/breastfeeding and I have had a lot of extra stress in my life too. I’m guessing some combination of that messed with my cycles.
