Sorry if this is too much information
, but I’m needing some answers from those with more practice than us. We’ve never had to use NFP to avoid. We are self taught through online courses of sympto thermal NFP, but, unfortunately can NOT temp anymore due to fevers and illness. It’s inaccurate. So we are kind of blind this month, and HAVE to use careful NFP, cause the surgery and the medicines can be very harmful, even fatal, to babies.
Problem is that my cycle is so unpredictable right now and completely out of whack. (I think it’s the infection and stress of illness on my body.) What knowledge of my cycle I once had, is out the door now. I have like a constant flow of fertile (watery or egg white) mucous. Mostly egg white. It just won’t stop, and seems to have no intention of doing so. And it came so much earlier than normal that we hit one of the iffy days.
I’m afraid this might just start all over again in about five days when my NORMAL fertile time is. I can’t do cervical checks accurate enough to tell anything, so we are relying on mucous alone. We are avoiding anything semi fertile, cause we used to rely on temperatures to help us through. We are abstaining the whole time through, but it’s going to be close to two weeks by the time it’s done. Point being, is this normal when you are ill to have a seemingly endless supply of fertile mucous and a seemingly endless length of fertile days? And is there a way to better figure which is fertile mucous and what is just normal mucous from the illness, is there even a way to tell for the future cycles during recovery? Two weeks just seems SO long, but maybe it’s necessary under the circumstances. Thanks so much to all who answer.

For you for both this situation and for surgery.
