Never heard it labeled like that. I had a friend in HS who decided to have an abortion, it was very difficult for her. I know, she came to me to talk about it before and after. We were both molested by her stepfather and she didn’t want another person to go through that, among other reasons. But it was an extremely difficult thing for her.And people say abortion is “empowering”… sheesh…
We both have mental illnesses and she will bring up “those trying times in her life” when we speak. We both won’t say the words molestation or abortion when talking.

It’s only the pro-abortion movement that calls abortion “empowering”, among other things…they cover up the fact that so many women regret their abortion(s), many turn to drugs and/or alcohol to cope, or suffer from depression and other mental issues for many years afterward.
I know several women who’ve had abortions, every one of them regrets it and feels duped by the “caring, compassionate service” provided by Planned Parenthood. Abortion was held out to be the ONLY solution to their problem, but they knew the minute they left that they’d make a terrible choice. After counseling is non-existent at PP, they didn’t want to see them again unless they needed more “healthcare”.

When people talk about abortions in real life it’s a different atmosphere. The “empowering” thing comes in when advocates for “choice” paints abortion as a “choice” and then play the “alley hook hanger” game to those who disagree. I think that true female empowerment is not simply giving women choices, but rather teaching women so that they could make the best of choices. And the best of choices in this context is not having an abortion. Not being ready or having anything to offer a child would then mean the choice is, once you’ve had him or her, giving the child to a mother who is ready and cannot have children of her own. I don’t know why they think this flimsy excuse is reason enough to kill the child.

Also, I’ve seen t-shirts that say “I Had An Abortion,” and the woman wearing it is smiling so proudly. Your “right” has crossed over into pride and wanting to be God, I would say to them. Right down to the taking of a human life. As another poster said, real accounts of these women are far different from this prideful way. I know only one woman who had an abortion, and she is distantly within my family. I don’t discriminate against her at all. I also saw a picture of a woman, great with child, and on her exposed belly was painted the words: “My Baby Is Pro-Choice.” What I thought of that really isn’t necessary to be said. You can imagine.

Children should have structure and rules, but they shouldn’t be these robot things that aren’t allowed to have opinions and thoughts, except for what their parents drill into them.
