Night anguish help

Help me with your prayer? Sleep alludes me as I feel the weight of the world this midnight and my belief that our Lord is constantly by my side is wavering. Bless me please to undo this feeling and vanquish doubt thrust upon me by the evil one.

May those who serve the Lord be His body, formed together to support one another. Peace be with you.

Be practical, please. Our bodies and minds are at low ebb in the night hours…most natural deaths take place around 3 am…

When this is hard, I put the light on, read, knit, NOT THE COMPUTER , have a snack… It always passes. Trust me on that. Lying in the dark fretting is the worst thing
 
Use a low light, because our bodies’ wakening mechanism is governed by the light on our eyes.

3AM? I didn’t know that. That’s the inverse of the time of our LORD’s death.

Praying for you

I too often awaken in the night, usually around 3 am. I have gotten into the habit of wrapping a sturdy rosary around my hand so I don’t have to search for it, which always wakes me up even more. I am usually back to sleep before I get to the first mystery. Mary always comforts her children.
 
Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Most holy apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of His enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many. But the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases–of things despaired of. Pray for me who feels so hopeless. Make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege accorded to you of bringing visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, in particular (indymb), and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise you, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you. Amen.

Teach her searching heart
to know that God’s Love
for her is unchanging and

His Love.

Let your gentle Peace -
which this world cannot give
  • be always with her.

This psalm encourages me to know that I am always in His presence, even if I wanted to take off and run the other way, He is STILL there whether we feel like it or not! Like CS Lewis said, you may not feel like your on an elevator that is going up, but the fact is you are!
