I got a Nintendo 3DS XL for Christmas and If any other 3DS users here on CAF would like to add me as a friend here is my friend code:

4811-6933-9889

My user name is “shack”

Also feel free to post your own friend code, if you would like me or anyone else to add you as a friend.

🙂

I’ve currently got the XL model.

I’ve had the console ever since it came out in 2011, as I previously had the Blue standard version.

I would suggest:
  • Super Street Fighter 4: 3D Edition (a superb “launch title” was this nifty edition of SSF4)
  • Resident Evil: Revelations (a return to form and to the Survival Horror genre, for the series, and some fantastic graphics for the 3DS! This game was the reason I preordered my 3DS as it looked utterly fantastic… Even though it was delayed to 2012, It lived up to every expectation! You must experience it with the Circle Pad Pro attachment, as that was clearly designed with this game in mind)
  • StarFox 3D(a new lease on life for the N64 classic!)
  • Super Mario 3D Land (the first true hand-held 3D Mario game doesn’t disappoint… it’s fantastic!)
  • New Super Mario Bros 2 (more traditional side-scrolling Mario antics, but no less enjoyable!)
  • The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds(the best game on the system so far! Another Zelda masterpiece from Nintendo!)
  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time 3D(Also a great must-play Zelda game and another solid upgrade to an N64 classic. If you’ve never played it before, this is the definitive edition of the game)
  • Mario Kart 7(more of what you’d expect from this series, with the added thrill of “gliding sections”)
I don’t remember my friend code currently though.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is amazing!!! Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 are also very good.

I bought Super Street Fighter 4: 3D Edition, Ridge Racer 3D and Nintendogs + Cats back when the original 3DS first launched in March 2011.

I also bought Rayman 3D and it was horrible!!! The environments were just eye grating and just wandering around the game as Rayman in 3D mode gave me a headache!!!

I eventually got The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. A few days ago, I gave the Ocarina of Time game, as well as the original 3DS, to my sister and she loves it too!!! :D.

Ocarina of Time was an example of a 90s game, remastered in 3D, done completely right.

Rayman 3D was an example of a 90s game, remastered in 3D, done completely wrong.

Also, you can access your Friend code by tapping “Friend List” on the Home Screen of the 3DS.

Link Between Worlds is amazing! Best two dungeons were Ice Ruins (negative tower dungeon, and the drop down to lava) and Thieves’ Hideout (for the twist on Blind)

I’ve bought a few duds on it too…

Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell 3D was pretty fun, but ultimately a terrible port of Chaos Theory. Ubisoft rushed most of their early 3DS games(especially Rayman 3D), except for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars, which I never played but is supposed to be pretty good.

Their ports of the new Rayman games(Rayman Legends and Rayman Origins) have been pretty solid though, and if you don’t have them on the other systems the 3DS versions are great.

Capcom has been the best third party developer on the system.

I forgot to mention Metal Gear Solid 3D: Snake Eater… That was a spectacular port of a PS2 classic that I’d never actually played before, and I loved it. The 3D feature was well used in that game. Although Konami made a mistake releasing the HD Vita version(without the additional gameplay features of 3DS update) at almost exactly the same time. They should have let the 3DS updated edition have a few months by itself.

Hi everyone I’m Ciarán’s twin sister, as he said in his post he gave me his old nintendo 3DS and my friend code is 3497-1101-2267 🙂

Has anyone here tried Pokeman X or Pokeman Y. What are they like? I’m seriously thinking about buying one of those games.
