Here’s the full article: PETA Member Sues Nintendo

All I can say is… wow… in particular at a couple parts in the article, and I quote (the game that’s being referenced here is the new Pokemon Y game):

"My daughter may have become a serial killer or worse, an animal abuser, if I had bought her the game,” she recalled, “I considered suing Nintendo right then for causing me so much distress all those years ago. Are there even any Christians at Nintendo?”

“After a brief argument, I was able to wrestle my daughter’s Nintendo away from her and broke it in half. I flushed that horrible Pokemon game down the toilet with my cat’s droppings. I’ve banned her from any video games and anything Pokemon-related and told her that she’s never going to see the boy who bought the game for her ever again. And I’ll be home schooling her from now on.”

…um … yeah… I think I’m more worried about the parent than the child. 😛 But hey, at least she really cares about her child, though!

Anyway, your guys’ thoughts on this?

sigh I found out a little too late… but I guess the website where this article comes from is from a satire web site, and it seems it’s produced some other false, yet rather humorous gaming-related articles as well.

Oh well, at least I know now for future reference about what kind of a site it is, lol.

Oh I just have to chuckle hard at this one. It IS comedy gold tho.

I was going to say! The description of breaking the child’s game is too detailed for a serious post. (This used to happen to me all the time, so I’m trying to learn to identify satire more reliably).

That said, Pokemon has caused its share of controversy among fundamentalist Christians and animal rights activists. The animal rights activists say that it encourages violence like dogfighting and cockfighting. The fundamentalists mostly just call it satanic and point to ghost types and/or the fact that the series is popular. 😛

Then there was that one Easter where PETA bought a billboard in full sight of the main entrance of Church of the Little Flower in Springfield, IL. The PETA ad showed a pig, cute and pink and with a curly tail, and the words “He died for your sins.”

I intentionally ate at KFC that day, out of sheer spite.

Um, I might have cooked my own fried chicken.

Once I heard a radio host do a sort of in memoriam show for a friend who had died. In one anecdote he & the friend were eating at KFC & found unidentified pieces at the bottom of the bucket.
Are they wings? he asks.
No.
Are they breasts?
No.
Are they legs?
No.
I’m telling you man, they’re feeding us chicken a–es!

I’ve eaten at KFC since but not without thinking about that story.

This article has some basis in truth…

features.peta.org/mario-kills-tanooki/

PETA are OBSESSIVE about some pretty stupid stuff.

Kids aren’t allow to be kids anymore according to them.

So Mario wears fur… so what? They never say how he gets the suit, it’s a magical kids world, you just expect this sort of thing to be “normal”. After all this is a special kingdom where Dinosaurs still exist and eating flowers helps you shoot fireballs.

If these guys had their way, Super Mario Bros. 3, one of the greatest, most inventive 8-bit video games of all time, would probably be banned…

Although I greatly admire many people who fight for animal rights, PETA are generally out of their friggin’ minds nonetheless.

(can we say ‘friggin’ here?)

^ They’re costumes, not furs. That’s the crazy bit.
