If someone does not have access to confession, what is the best thing to do to repent for their sins?
Also, are there any websites for advice from a Catholic perspective? I know it’s the internet, and it’s not best to talk about very personal things on the internet because anyone can do anything with it, but I just really need help with something.

A lot of people will tell you to “just make an act of perfect contrition”, but perfect contrition is rare and requires special graces.

Honestly, the best thing you can do is drive to another city/town with access to Confession. This is what I had to do until I could move.

I’m sorry that you don’t have access to Confession. In which country do you live? Where I live I can have confession every day of the week except Monday. I NEVER REALIZED HOW BLESSED WE ARE!

That is an usual case and a difficult one. I have heard of it many years ago. My advice to the case was; there is no alternative to any means, but only the priest is needed in that case; that is you need to see the priest in person for confession.

Can we diminish the sacredness of the sacrament to use other means; phone and internet? Of course NOT.

The Bishops and Conference of Bishops and Rome may need to give directions on the matter and officially published it in written form as a norm for pastoral prudence to confessors only in its greatest necessity as to avoid abuse of the sacrament.

Is there a reason you can not request a priest to come to you? Somehow I feel certain the request would not be denied if a good reason were stated for asking ( physically unable to get to a Church, perhaps). I used to receive Communion in the hospital and at home and could not imagine that confession would be any different.
Good luck.

(new here so I don’t have a good slogan or saying to close my posts, gonna have to find a good one 🙂 .)

If your not going to be receiving the Eucharist but want forgiveness get on your knees and ask our lord for forgiveness he knows all our sins and knows our hearts the priest is just a representative of him but really repentence starts within your heart not the confessional can I say that if you died tomorrow youd be thrown into hell for not officially confessing your sins no I cant can I say you will ascend to heaven that I cant say either but I do know that God himself is merciful beyond mercy and will look upon you with that same mercy.
