Circumstances prevented me from getting Ashes today. Will God and the saints be dissapointed?

No one here can answer that question with any certainty. Ash Wednesday is not a Holy Day of Obligation (at least not in the US). IMO, I don’t think God or the saints would be all that dissapointed that you were not able to get ashes today.

Ash Wednesday is not a Holy Day of Obligation and even if you did attend Mass you are not required to receive the ashes.

God and the saints will not be disappointed.

Good, thanks!

Of course not! :hug3: It’s not about getting the ashes on this one day, it’s about keeping in the spirit of Lent for the following 40 👍

Our attendance at the Ash Wednesday services has been difficult this year due to the very snowy slippery weather. As the other posters have noted, receiving ashes is not an obligation rather a tradition with deep roots to begin our Lenten season in a reverent and serious way. However, living out the meaning of “Turning away from sin, and be faithful to the gospel” which is one of the responses uttered when the ashes are applied is a greater decision for each of us to make. Hopefully, we make the right choice, so we can truly welcome Jesus at Easter.👍

God cannot be disappointed, he is eternal and unchanging.
He has called you to turn away from sin, repent, and listen to the Gospel. The ashes are a symbol of this, not the reality.
