I ended up with a new computer that way . . .

My 2012(?) MacBook Pro, 15" (bought courtesy of a creditor who messed with my client and had to pay my fees for cleaning their mess!) was one of the first to exhibit (what we would later learn to be) the crash on switching video cards (there was a performance and a low power).

It was consistently crashing once every morning.

The third time I brought it in, they came back out and told me that they were going to refund it, and sell me the newer model for the same price. They said there were two reasons
  1. I was one of the few that would actually appreciate what they were doing for me, and
  2. “You always come in with interesting questions”🤣😇
there was actually a 3): the engineers in Cupertino very much wanted to get their paws on my machine so they could direct it and figure out what was going on–it was throwing error codes that weren’t even on the list the field folks had!

(when bought my first iPad, the 2, the sales girl asked, “Is this your first Macintosh Product?” I replied with, “I have working macs older than most of your employees!”)
I heard the story once of a Chinese king who gave his advisors the task to come up with a witty phrase that the king could use at almost any time where he might be stumped for words but still wanted to appear wise and knowing.

From memory the advisers came up with something like ‘This too shall pass’.
Actually, that wasn’t a king, but a proctologist 🤣😱
Should I be concerned?
Be scared. Very scared.

😱
