Would it help to find a streaming video of a Christmas Mass? Our diocese has one in an hour and a half from now.

Or would that just make you feel more left out?

I wish the Eucharist weren’t so divisive. 🤷

I say you should go, although I don’t know why I telling you this as I haven’t been to mass for 10 years. Just my :twocents::twocents:

If you can still make it to mass, try to go…even if you cannot officially take Eucharist, please just get blessed by the priest! You may have more fun at mass too. :gopray::highprayer:

Do tell what it was like being in the beauty of God’s house and the place where His glory dwelleth for the fist time in 30 years?
What an affectionate birthday gift to our Lord!

The Church was packed.
Kids screaming.
Couldn’t hear much.
Didn’t know most of the responses/words.

But thank God I went.
All of you were right.

I feel blessed and inspired.

Eucharist is not divisive.
People do not fully understand the Mass. That’s a totally different issue.
Merry Christmas,

Don’t you know? The screaming children is why we have a choir! They are supposed to drown each other out! I guess it didn’t work so well yesterday for you. I’m glad you went. I don’t leave here yet for a little while. Merry Christmas.

I heard a couple children, but they didn’t keep me from hearing the homily from where I was seated. I did see a few people acting annoyed, but that’s part of the fun. “Annoying” would lose its impact if there weren’t somebody to cover “being annoyed” in the whole thing.

We didn’t have a choir, but I did decide to play the whole Mass, except the Communion hymn, on the organ. It’s been years since I’ve played a whole Mass on the organ and it was really fun. I remember back when we didn’t have a piano.

But the kids’ chorus was so beautiful. If it had been birds singing we would have though “oh how precious and beautiful and natural.” But since it included babies it’s more like, “awful parents don’t care about God or anyone else; can’t they shut that thing up?” 😃

Our priest always comments that the babies crying makes him weep with joy:
They were wanted, they are loved, they were allowed to be born.
So appropriate for the birth of the Savior.
Rejoice in the cries of the babes. LIFE!
The Savior lives!

Merry Christmas everyone.

Now - keep on coming, every Sunday and Holy Day, even if you don’t have your convalidation done yet - as well as doing everything possible on your end to speed it along. 🙂
