Well in the extraordinary pandemic we are currently living in, and as one who almost died in the ICU with covid, I came to the conclusion that God loves and forgives us by meeting us where we are. No priests were allowed in and, yet, I was completely at peace knowing I might die at any hour and God was taking care of me and was willing and able to forgive me for any wrongdoing I had done.
I just wish more articles would be written about that, rather than about not dotting the I’s and crossing the t’s. As someone who was in that situation all I can tell you is God truly does communicate intimately with the dying. It is a concept we don’t hear enough about.
