StarMaiden:

The Psalm for Night Prayer in my copy of Shorter Christian Prayer for tonight (Tuesday) is Psalm 143:1-11. It is titled, “Prayer in Distress.” The second stanza reads,

“The enemy pursues my soul;
he has crushed my life to the ground;
he has made me dwell in darkness
like the dead, long forgotten.
Therefore my spirit fails;
my heart is numb within me.”

The seventh stanza reads,

“For your name’s sake, Lord, save my life;
in your justice save my soul from distress.”

The Reading for tonight is from 1Peter 5:8-9a: “Be sober and vigilant. Your opponent the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for [someone] to devour. Resist him, steadfast in faith.”

Do not despair. Jesus knows exactly what you are going through, because He has been there. He is with you. The Blessed Virgin and the Saints are praying for you; your Guardian Angel stands with you. You really are not alone.

I am praying for you.

Melvin

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth, as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Dear Lord,
Please look kindly upon StarMaiden and see her plight. Fill her with resolve to know You and to love You. Even in her doubts let your mercy and love be with her all of the days of her life. We also ask for a miracle from you St. Anthony that you ask the Sweet Infant Jesus to send a miracle StarMaidens way, [that she be lifted out of her depression, and allowed to enjoy life again], Amen

Hang in there, God loves you!

Also remember depression dose not come from God it comes from the enemy it is a spirit so when we feel this come on us we need to pray like crazy because we are fighting against evil so we need to keep binding and rebuking this spirit of depression and not be affraid , God did not give us the spirt of fear but a sprit of righousness and strenght and we have the bible to fight against it " LET NO WEAPON COME AGAINST ME PROSPOR OR SUCCED FOR WE ARE THE HEAD AND NOT THE TAIL. THUR CHRIST JESUS.ALL THIS TO SHALL PASS " try to repeat scripture all day long it really helps .God bless you:cool:

Oh StarMaiden…please know I’m holding you in prayer…and that God is always with us, and I pray He brings you comfort. I am grateful for your presence in the Good Grief group as well, thank you for joining there, we need one another. God bless! :hug1:

Hi.I am on med. for dep.I still get down at times.When I do I try to think of others & I think of all that God has Blessed me with.:

Starmaiden, are you feeling any better?
If you have any Holy Water it may help to make the Sign of the Cross with it when these
feelings invade your heart and your mind. At least it can’t hurt!

You are still in my heart.

Whatever your troubles, whatever difficulties you are facing right now, know that they are all happening for your ultimate good. God cannot make new without destroying what is old first, and such is the reason we are permitted to suffer - so that what is old and no longer working can be dismantled and removed in order that God may have clear space to build something stronger, more powerful, and longer lasting than what we had before. Be assured that God is never closer to you than during your moment of greatest anxiety. Offer up your pain to Christ that He may use it for the redemption of souls and reparation for any sins you may have committed. Above all, cling to hope. God does not make promises to us that He does not keep. He loves you and He is doing all of this not to hurt you but to heal you.

You are in my prayers.:gopray2:
Always remember, that faith is not about how we feel. I, too, suffer from depression, & I have learned that I cannot trust my feelings to be the judge of what is true.:console::console::console:

It is in your darkest hours God is able to do the most for you. In our weakness He is strong.
God Bless you. I am praying for you.

Hi STARMAIDEN

you are not alone. I am depressed at the moment too…actually i just woke up after 12 hours of sleep. whenever i have a problem, i always want to sleep so i can avoid crying, misery and all the bad feelings…if it makes you feel relieved, then do so…but you know my friend, sometimes i think life goes on and all we can do is face whatever is hurting our feelings. there’s hope…when i woke up and logged on to caf, God is so good because i have a note from a friend…she wrote comforting words that really brightened my gloomy mood. God is good because He will always make a way to carry our loads. you too…im sure someone out there cares for you…see all of the people who wrote a note for you…cheer up my friend…God bless you

Thank you all so much for all your prayers and gracious words. I had a phone call yesterday that has knocked me back slightly and I just feel very low today, but knowing that you are holding me in your prayers and thoughts helps lift me a little.

May Our Lord and his gentle Mother bless you all 🙂

Let nothing disturb your peace. Remember that EVERYTHING that happens, whether it goes the way you would like it to or doesn’t, is happening right now to bring about YOUR personal good and the salvation of the souls of thousands of others. You have only one task: Keep up the fight. Don’t give in to the temptation to believe your self-doubts, your self-incriminations, and your negative feelings.

When you start feeling especially low, pray to St. Michael the Archangel as He will protect you in times of spiritual attack which is what depression actually is - a spiritual attack manifesting itself physically.

My prayers will be with you, every day. :gopray:

Cling to Jesus with all your might and all will be well. Remember that your faith does not consist of what you ‘feel’ about it, about God or about your strength level. Unite yourself, when you feel worst, to our beloved Jesus, who cried out in utter deriliction on the cross…He didn’t undergo that most horrible part of His passion for Himself; He did it for YOU, so that you would know you are NEVER alone, no matter how dark the place you’re in; no matter how alone, forgotten, abandoned or terrified you feel! He is there.

Holy Mary, Mother of Jesus, by the merits of your terrible sorrows at the foot of the cross of your beloved Son, obtain mercy and relief for this soul, so dear to your heart as mother. May your mantle of love and powerful protection enfold this, your dear one, now and forever…in Jesus name and through His Mercy. - Amen

St Michael, the Archangel, defend her in battle
be her safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil
may God rebuke him, we humbly pray
and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits
who prowl about the world, seeking the ruin of souls - Amen

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.
