Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Code:
Blessed by these words, please allow me to share:
Code:
...It has been said that the special glory of charity is to understand others. There is no greater need in this sad world than such a gift. For "the majority of people seem to suffer from a sense of neglect. They are unhappy because nobody takes them in hand, because nobody is ready to accept the confidences they offer." (The Legion of Mary Handbook, "Cardinal Points of the Legion Apostolate", p. 297)
Code:
Servant of God Frank Duff, founding the Legion of Mary in 1921, wrote the Handbook. He revised it after being a lay observer at Vatican II, to incorporate teachings from the documents. Reading these words I was reminded of Bl. Mother Teresa of Calcutta who said the greatest poverty is to be without God.

How important it is then, especially for anyone who loves Our Lady, to hear this great need people have for God's Love! A few paragraphs above this quote is another which seems to come straight from the heart of the Legion's founder:
Code:
...It is most certain that Mary wills that there be shown to the Mystical Body of her Beloved Son just such another love as she lavished on His actual body. In this she will help her legionaries. Where she finds in them the gleam, the readiness to love, she will fan it to a consuming flame. (also on p.297)
Jesus came to set us on fire with His Love, but it seems many have grown cold. Let us ask Mary to fan a gleam in our hearts, no matter how feeble. By God's Grace, may our readiness to love become a consuming flame.

The Virgin Mary loved Christ Jesus. The Virgin Mary loved God. We too should love God.

Amen. And let us pray that a spark in us will turn into a flame…

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Dear CyrilSebastian,

Happy Feast of St. Cyril and Methodius today! What wonderful patrons for you, and for all of us who desire to know, love and serve the Lord more!

Yes, Mary loves Jesus as no other human person has ever loved Him or will ever love Him! Conceived without sin and remaining sinless throughout her life on this earth, she is full of grace. She is Mother of God and from His Cross Jesus gave her to us, in the person of John, when He said to Mary: “Behold your son” and when He said to John, “Behold your Mother”. Let us take Mary into our lives as John did, that she may intercede for us and show us by her example how to love God more each day.

Thanks for your reply.

Dear petra,

Thanks for your reply. Yes, let us pray fervently that our hearts might burst into flames of love for God! Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Your Faithful and kindle in us the Fire of Your Love. Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.

O Jesus, living in Mary, come and live in your servants, in the spirit of holiness, in the fullness of your power, in the perfection of your ways, in the truth of your virtues, in the communion of your mysteries. Rule over every adverse power, in your Spirit, for the glory of the Father. Amen. (Prayer by Jean Jacques Olier, S.S. (1608-1657)

As Mother Angelica has said so often that people have no hope. And those that bring hope to others are bringing Christ to others. For Christ is the same today, yesterday, and tomorrow, which also applies to his hope. This is also the idea our Holy Father gave in his new letter on hope.

Dear Fred,

Thanks for your reply. Yes, how we need to share with people the faith, hope and Love God has given to us! We cannot hide His Light under anything but rather let it shine for others to see and glorify our Father. Jesus is our hope in the darkness of any trial; we need to share Him with others in order to give them hope.

Let us continue to pray to the Holy Spirit for one another, for the Church and for all those in most need of His Mercy.
