No Manners

I am no fan of Novo Ordo but your are still in a Catholic Church. After Good Friday
services instead of leaving in silence the noise level was so bad that first the music director then a member of the choir had to remind them to leave in silence more than
once with no respect for what just took place. What happened to manners in church?.
It was rather sad.

As to leaving in silence, I have never seen that as an issue. At least the musicians had the fortitude to remind them.

Well, it’s not the “fault” of the Novus Ordo.

In my parish, and in any that I have been in here, the Mass is celebrated in totally orthodox fashion (okay, with some altar girls, if that is considered non-orthodox), and the congregation are quiet and reverent during Mass. They don’t text or have their cellphones ringing, they don’t chat, they don’t chew gum (which I’ve read on CAF can happen!)… and they leave the church in silence on Good Friday at least.

Not so silent leaving the church on other days, though!!

I’m not sure what happened at your church, but at ours it was silent. We needed no reminders.

Yes, it was an Ordinary Form Liturgy.

99% of us left in silence. There were a couple older ladies who apparently had some sort of exception going on. I’m sure it was really, really important.

Wait, so you’re supposed to be quiet and leave the Church immediately after Mass? You’re not allowed to stay a few minutes and socialize? That’s always the way it works at my parish.
