Parishes and dioceses run on tight margins—I work for one and the concern is very high right now.

They probably already took some financial hit from the abuse crisis, and now this on top of it, and people losing their incomes or jobs and being unable to contribute. I guess I can see the concern. I tend to think, like the economy, it will bounce back when we get past this. For now we will all just have to take belt-tightening measures and those who can contribute should do so.

That’s why I like using autopay from my checking account. I never even gave a thought to stopping it. It would take serious effort and self-examination to tighten by belt and decide to make that call.

I encourage people continuing to make weekly payments to their Parish. My Parish has Faith Direct, so you can make contributions online.

Same here. Our monthly and holy day contributions are directly withdrawn and it’s part of our budget

I’m retired, so my income isn’t affected by the economic shutdowns. I contribute by check, and during the church closure, the $$$ will just stay in my account. When we have our first post-closure Mass, I’ll just write a check for the accumulated amount.
