No money again!

I can’t believe that this is happening again. 2 months ago, DH’s old boss bounced a paycheck and the bank charged us an outrageous amount of fees, and today, we received a returned check for our bank again and a letter saying the person who wrote the check had insufficient funds, so we’re negative in our account for over $1500 dollars. And this is a different boss!!! We’re stuck on the weekend with no money, not even for food. If this wasn’t it, I’ve been having short hrs at work, and last wk I didn’t work at all because I miscarried our first baby :(.

I can’t believe this is happening again, and now during Christmas season… 😦

Oh no! Can you call your husband’s boss and tell him this? Can he pay cash? This really stinks. I’m sorry.
 
yessi… can I ask what dh does for a living? These things don’t usually just happen in most fields.

He’s a painter. But the last time it happened, it was with a one man company. This time is with a big company and all they had to say is that they’ll take care of it Monday when DH brings in proof of the returned check and the overdraft fees… 😦

Last time we couldn’t fix anything, the man still owes DH the money from the fees and the last paycheck. He doesn’t pick up his calls at all… :mad:

2 months ago I avoided the court because of the baby… now that I’m not pg any more, I really want to go but w/o any money in the bank, I can’t do it either…

I don’t think small claims court is too expensive- just a filing charge.

It’s not like I could do it tomorrow, but if I could, I have no money until DH gets paid. I get 3 days worth of pay Monday too, so I hope something gets done. I can’t even pay the credit card bill… argh!!!

I could, maybe. But I had a fight with my mom and she’s the only one who could help me financially right now. I don’t really want to speak to her. She said some hurtful things on Sunday about my baby dying, that I still feel angry at her. Maybe grandparents but they have very little money…

Be proactive.

Something is happening here, some “bigger plan” and you/we don’t know what it is. Pray for temperance and patience, and pray even harder for God to reveal the reasons for your suffering. Even if it is just making the old boss (the JW right?) pay all of his unpaid debts to you.

For now, can you get food from a pantry? A Catholic Pantry? Talk to your priest or a local charity and see if you can get food anonymously.
 
So sorry to hear about this, really 😦 I can relate, as I’m only working part-time, FH works for a charity so not as much money as someone in his field would normally make, and right now we still are paying 2 rents, car expenses, etc. I know exactly how it feels when you keep getting more expenses without any income :mad: on top of the many other trials in life lately.

All I can offer is my prayers through this tough time :gopray: for an easier New Year for you and your DH.
 
Ask your church for help…they will steer you in the right direction.
Meanwhile, prayers headed your way…
 
My BIL used to have his own construction (roofing) business, and I remember when people didn’t pay him for jobs…it was really tough on the family. I am sorry you are going through this. The even tougher part, is sue your husband’s boss? Not sure if he would even have an income anymore, so that is probably a concern too. I think I would ask the boss for the cash…and to pay the NSF charges. If he refuses, than perhaps I would sue, but not before I would seek what the guy owes your husband. I’m so sorry!!! And please accept my sympathy for the loss of your child…God always provides, but sometimes, it is hard to see what the “point” of some of life’s suffering is. I will pray for you that God provides the necessary resources for you all to manage through this!
 
SORRY TO read what is happening to you’ have you a st. vincent de paul group in your parish, they should be able to supply a food parcel to tide you over the christmas period. be strong
 
Dh still hasn’t gotten paid. I have no money what so ever. Well, except for some cash his best friend let us borrow for gas and maybe some food for the wk, he let us borrow $200 since Dh was embarrassed to take more. 😊 I hate borrowing money. Last time we didn’t have money I didn’t know I was pg, but we had some food left at home. I think we’re down to the last of it today… ugh… no money for Christmas, this really sucks. I couldn’t even buy Christmas cards. No presents for anyone, no nothing… not like I care about the presents, besides, my family knows I wasn’t in the mood for Christmas and they also knew we had very little money since we had to spend tons while I ws pg with my baby. I spent over $1000 in ER and follow up appts that just ended up in that car crash and miscarrying my little one 😦 .

Please do keep us in your prayers this Christmas. If we don’t get money by tomorrow, we might have to drive about 60 miles to the nearest angel food ministries. I can’t believe this is actually happening… 😊
