Matthew 5:19
Code:
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
My Aunt quotes this verse to show that dogmas don’t matter. That Many churches arn’t bad because even if you deveate you still make it into heaven and that the “Let them be of one mind” is simply be in oneness of love of God (The Great Commandment) and that other than that have the Dogmas and faith that best suites you personality. How should I respond to this? Thanks and God bless.

That seems to be the exact opposite of what this verse is actually saying.

Tell your aunt that “just barely making it into Heaven” isn’t a good thing. These are the people who remain in Purgatory right up until the very moment of the Last Judgement - and Purgatory isn’t exactly a picnic.

Well she says that getting into heaven is getting into heaven and she doesn’t beleive in Purgatory either so that appeal wouldn’t help any.
