This is for those who probably did not see this in the first post which I had posted:

Mannyfit75:
Only the **two large **main Christian body which is both the Catholic Church and Orthodox Church maintain Holy Orders and valid Sacraments. Therefore, these Churches have Real Presence of Jesus in the form of Bread and Wine, which has become Jesus Christ. For His Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity is there but hidden in the appearance of Unleaven Bread (leaven Bread / E. Rite/Orthodox).

Arrogant! Have you not read what I wrote? Early in the post I wrote, Catholics and Orthodox Christians have the the Real Presence of Jesus Christ.

A monopoly, I think not. Next time you call some arrogant you better read the accusers post carefully. If I had said Catholics have exclusive rights I would not include the Eastern Orthodox Christians.
Manny, I have news for you. Anyone can receive Jesus and they don’t have to join the Catholic church. A person in the middle of the desert who turns to Jesus by faith can receive Him. A person in the middle of a Muslim country wishing to turn to Jesus can receive Him. It’s by faith and by faith alone can you receive Him. It’s not thru man-made meat that perishes. A “whosoever” must eat the real meat. God loves everyone and made this available to everyone.

Notice in this verse it does not say whosoever in the Catholic church. Every person on earth is a whosoever. The Bible was written for the whosoever… not the Catholic church only.

Jhn 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Eph 2:8
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:

Manny, seriously… cheer up brother. The real presence of Jesus Christ is in each individual. We are the temple. His love is present in our hearts. We turned to Him in faith, we repented, He forgave us of all our sins, He baptized us the the Holy Spirit and filled us with His love. He is always present with us. We follow Christ. You will know His followers by their fruits not by the name of their church… but by love, peace, joy

That means judge yourself and don’t be like Judas.
You lost me.

It is difficult to have dialog when the parties are so opposed to each other doctrinally. On one hand there is a believer; the other, an unbeliever and each have a smathering of parallel beliefs but are divided by a huge concept of how to follow Christ and how to be as near Him in this life as possible.

The reception of the Eucharist is as close as a Christian can get to Heaven on this Earth in our human state. Right there is the grand separation.

🙂

Yes. Catholics and Orthodox have Apostolic Succession. It is difficult to explain to someone who is not from either of these Traditions that they do not have Holy Orders. Catholics and Orthodox are accused of being arrogant and uncharitable. But the truth has been proclaimed in these Churches for 2000 years. And all are welcome to the true Church. Her doors are wide open! 🙂

Eucharist = Body and Blood of Jesus Christ (1 Cor 11:27)
Jesus Christ = the way the truth and the life (John 14:6)

Believing is not enough though. Even the Satan believes and he fears the Lord. To believe is to believe in everything that Jesus taught us. When he said, "we have to eat his flesh and drink his cup, we should. When he say, if love him, we should follow all his commandments (through God’s grace),

I know your rely so much of Faith Alone a doctrine of man invited by Martin Luther during the Reformation. Yet there is not one verse that we rely on mere faith alone. It is God’s grace that saves.

How do you show your faith? Do you pray to God often? Imitate Jesus Christ by helping the poor, the hungry, the homeless, the dying, the imprison? Or do you just sit at home read your Bible and expect to be automatically saved? No. By God’s grace, we do these actions of good Christian charity.

Yes people can received Jesus but its not by mere faith alone. That concept is un-Biblical and not found in any patristic documents by the ECF

Thanks but we receive the body and blood the way Jesus said to. Where do you get the very arrogant notion that your church has exclusive rights on His flesh?
When the Protestant Reformation took place (and by the way, The “Reformation” did NOT reform anything…it just went its separate way) the church founded by such as Martin Luther broke away from the True Church and in a clear sense of what he became was an “apoststae.” In other words he formed his own church with a new set of beliefs while renouncing the foundation.

This “breaking away” makes invalid all the powers that is bestowed on a priest of the True Church. Since Luther denies the True Presence and the power to forgive sins (Penance) why are we arguing the perception of the Eucharist…it’s an “East is East and West is West and never the twain shall meet” divide.

The Catholic Church has survived so many trials over 2,000 years that were it not the True Church guided by the Holy Spirit we would have been gone a long, long time ago.

But, WE ARE STILL HERE !!!🙂

It is by faith alone that you receive Jesus. There is no other way. You seem to think faith means to just believe with your head… an intellectual type of belief. That’s not it. It’s much more than that. It’s a conviction in your heart about who Jesus really is and what He has done accompanied by a true state of heart felt repentance from sin. I don’t know how else to explain to you that it is a spiritual conversion of the heart and a continuing transformation of the mind by the Word into a Christ like person. We are guided by the Holy Spirit and filled with His love. You will know the followers of Jesus by their love, peace, joy, and other fruits of righteousness. You cannot know them by their religion or denomination.

Hi All:wave: ,

I understand and appreciate how much passion you have toward the Eucharist. I admire that. I hope it is based on love and wanting to please the Lord and not obligation. It seems it is based on love.

I hope you will also understand that we also love the Lord and want to please Him.

When I see comments about how much closer can you get—well IMHO you cant get any closer then having Jesus Christ via the Holy Spirit living inside you 24/7 till death do you part. Dont get me wrong I 100% believe in receiving communion because Christ commanded us to do so until He returns.

I guess what upsets me is that you guys think that is the only closest way to get to be with Him.(I may be wrong but this is how you come across)Also, how does it make you feel when you miss the Eucharist? sad, lonely, I dont know. See we dont have that in the way we believe because we are never without Jesus. He is with us every step of the way, loving us, holding us up during trials and tribulations, and guiding us to the truth and away from sin. So you see why **we believe **we do not need to actually really drink blood and eat flesh? It is not necessary.

What is necessary is to commemorate and contemplate and meditate, as often as you want as a congregation, to remember what Christ did for us on the cross and to examine ourselves and see if any wicked ways are in us and to ask for forgiveness.

I think both sides need to understand that we both think we are right and that will never change. We will all be judged one day alone on our own in front of God. We will answer for no one but ourselves and our beliefs.

So with that said–should we lose the thread:p  👍

:clapping: Yes, well said

I’ve always have thought it was becuase of Grace that I have Faith. No Grace from God means No Faith.

So I don’t understand how it can be faith alone.

He probably just forgot to write it down. You know sometimes you just abbreviate.

I guess we all just assume that we all know grace comes first.:o

Well you know what they say about assuming…

This most likely is another thread… so I shouldn’t really ask.
However if Grace is needed then how can it be faith alone?

If Grace is needed then it NOT faith alone but by Grace and Faith.

No it is God’s grace not faith alone. It is faith that we believe that Jesus is present in the Blessed Sacrament. Spiritual conversion happens when the Holy Spirit comes upon you and gives “a heart” and you “born again” so to speak.

How do we received the Holy Spirit? In Baptism. Just as Peter says in Epistles, “Baptism saves you.”

Yes, you know the followers of Jesus by their love, peace, joy and righteous. How do we put them in action? We act upon them. So it is not faith alone. It is God’s grace alone…

To believe in the Real Presence is to have faith that he is truly there. Your finite mind cannot comprehend it, nor any human being.

It has been revealed by the Church just as much as the Trinity was revealed in the Council of Nicea in 325 A.D to combat the heresy of Arianism.

Then of course we all say that we are judge by our deeds (works).
So it’s really not just Grace and Faith, but Grace and Faith and deeds (works).

That’s why Catholics say Grace through Faith and Works.

We feel sadden but we received him in the Blessed Sacrament, the Eucharist. “We become a part of him.” Just as Jesus said, “For my flesh is meat indeed: and my blood is drink indeed. 57 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, abideth in me, and I in him”
He is with us every step of the way, loving us, holding us up during trials and tribulations, and guiding us to the truth and away from sin. So you see why **we believe **we do not need to actually really drink blood and eat flesh? It is not necessary.
