no Reformation in the East

ok im wondering something if the Catholic and Orthodox churches have basically the same belifes and while there were some issues of pratice the main theme of the Reformation was doctrine. Why then if Protestant docrine is true then why was there no Reformation in the East. Any thoughts from protestants or catholics
 
The conditions that led to the Protestant reformation in the West simply didn’t exist in the East. (I’m not saying that everything in the East was perfect, but they were different kinds of problems.)

More than one person has pointed out that classical Protestants and Roman Catholics (in the narrow sense) share the same assumptions and ask the same questions, though they differ about the answers.

In the East, not only are the answers different, but the assumptions and questions are not the same.
