Please could you comment on the Church’s teaching that salvation is only possible outside of the church where a person genuinely has no knowledge of Christ but has sought to live a good life. In particular, how strictly is this criteria applied? Would this be reserved for people who have literally no knowledge of Christ at all or to what extent would it apply to people who are aware of Christianity but choose a different faith group regardless. As we are all aware, there are many people who lead good lives but have been raised/continue to choose a different faith. Any insight on this would be appreciated.
Thank you.
