No Water Added to Wine?

I’m interested in what you all think about no water being added to the wine that the people recieve but adding wine to the priest’s chalice.

Take for example…

A pitcher of wine is brought from the creedence table and used to fill the cups, but the wine for the priest’s chalice is brought forward along with water in the presentation of the gifts. The gifts are recieved, the altar dressed, and the deacon pours the wine into the priest’s chalice from the cruet and adds a drop of water, but maybe the altar servers are a little slow and have not brought the pitcher of wine for the cups from the creedence table to the altar yet, or maybe the deacon just forgot to add a drop to the pitcher.

It doesn’t bother me at all and was one random time. I’m just interested in what y’all think about the validity, or just thoughts in general…

This has come up a few times in the Ask an Apologist forum.

Fr. Serpa said here,here, here, and here that the water should be added only to the main chalice.

And in that last link, Fr. Serpa also explains that adding water is not necessary for validity of the Eucharist. Even if the priest forgets to add water to his own chalice.
