To answer your second point: No.
Finally, my interpretation that the meaning of the Noah story is that God preserves the righteous and allows the destruction of the wicked comes from noting the simple fact that this is what Scripture says. Why was Noah spared? Because he was righteous. Why weren’t others spared? Because they were wicked. It’s right there in Genesis.
Also, to give credit where credit is due, my interpretation isn’t really mine. I’m just using the same one Jesus used. See Matthew 24:37-39. I feel I’m pretty safe ground saying that Jesus could authoritatively interpret Scripture.

- Well if you want to say that story as ficticious, then doesn’t that mean you are less likely to believe other things the Bible tells you?
- It seems to me that God has provided salvation for those who are not righteous. That seems to be contradictory to what you say you learned from your myth of Noah.
