As there are many threads about this film I thought it would be easier for people to rate it.

I haven’t seen it so I won’t rate it.

Thanks.

I gave it a five.

I don’t except films to teach me Scripture. And as a movie experience, it was great!

ICXC NIKA.

Sorry to say that I would have to give it a two. Rock monsters built the ark? Not my cup of tea but the acting was good.

Apparently they took the Ark story from additional Jewish writings that were not in the Old Testament.

According to a friend of mine who was aware of them, it’s actually an accurate hybrid of the two if you accept the other writings.

Of course, that’s a pretty big “if”.

Haven’t seen it yet, so I didn’t vote.

I don’t know if it’s true, but I heard that they don’t even mention the name of God once. 🤷

I haven’t seen the movie, but from what I’ve read, that is a pretty weak criticism (and not even entirely accurate). They don’t use the word “God” that often, but they talk about the “Creator” all the time.

Thank you for pointing that out.

No, the rock monsters were actually representing the Nephilim LOL I had to explain this to someone else too. I dont believe they were actually made of rock, but do believe they were giants (roughly 18ft-35ft tall).

I asked a senior priest at my parish about the Nephilim a few months ago, he explained them to me very well, I have put this explanation here in a few other threads, He did not have a good answer for why this was not taught in the catholic school though, I went to this catholic school up to 7th grade and I never once heard them mention the Nephilim, I had to ask a priest about it to actually get an explanation!

I hope more people saw the rock monsters in the movie as actually being the Nephilim. I know some at the theater I went to did, as I heard one woman explaining it to her kids in front of me, so this was nice to hear.

Thoroughly enjoyed it, although it’s definitely not a movie for children. The death of the world is (unsurprisingly) disturbing to watch.

I also very much appreciated the pro-life message: Spoiler Humanity is saved because Noah has too much love/ is far too good to kill children… and God chose Noah because He knew that Noah was the best of humanity, and if NOAH were capable of killing them then humanity was clearly not good. THAT is how mankind ‘proved’ to God that we were worth saving, by Noah refusing to kill his grandchildren. End Spoiler.

The ‘God’ not being referenced complaint is complete garbage, imho… it is VERY clear that ‘The Creator’ is God (and Ham even states this exactly at one point).

With that said, it obviously doesn’t follow Genesis word for word 😛 Some of the animals on the arc are even killed… including a Snake and a Zebra!
