Noah's Ark is being labeled a "fairy tale"

My friend’s daughter in a prestigious catholic high school is being taught that the bible story of Noah’s Ark is a “fairy story.”

I know that the Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches that “the Old Testament is an indispensable part of Sacred Scripture and its books are divinely inspired and retain a permanent value for the Old Covenant has never been revoked.” (para 121)

How should we advise my friend and her daughter to respond?
