The Catholic Church has her Traditions and I can’t help but wonder if some of those Traditions seeped in to the Protestant denominations and became ‘traditions.’

I guess what I’m trying to get at is this questions: Are there any traditions that most ‘Bible only’ churches follow that aren’t strictly anywhere in the Bible?

I am not sure about all “Bible only” folks, but three jump to mind:
  1. I have yet to see the “sinner’s prayer” formula anywhere in scripture, nor any other formula for being “saved” except for Trinitarian baptism.
  2. I don’t see any scripture that supports the congregation electing and firing it’s pastors based on you name it.
  3. I don’t see anywhere in scripture where scripture says that you must only use scripture alone.

**1. Revivals.
  1. Invitation hymns.
  2. Altar Calls.
  3. Voting on membership.
  4. “Sinner’s prayer”.
  5. Prayers to pieces of cloth.
  6. Hymnals.
  7. Church buildings.
  8. Bible alone.
  9. Having a Bible to start with.**

How about the Holy Trinity? While the concept is in the Bible, it is most definitely never mentioned by name specifically. As a matter of fact, it was defined by the Catholic Church. So…I think it’s funny that a lot of these sola scriptura churches still believe in the Holy Trinity.

Not saying this to be rude to any Protestants…I was raised Protestant, lol.

Edit: I don’t know if this would count as “tradition” so much as teaching, though. Eh, it’s late.
