Non-Catholic Christians and the Offertory

My mom and I are having a disagreement. For the close of Catholic Schools Week, my family was asked to bring forth the offertory.
My husband is Baptist. In what I have studied so far, I see no reason why he can not participate in this part of the Liturgy. My mother on the other hand is adimant that he can not. Our Pastor is on Vacation until Sunday and we have no interim Priest for the time being. (long story short… We are a mission church in a VERY rural area) My husband is not apposed. Thank you for any help.
 
As long as what he is doing isn’t considered blasphemous to either Religion, I see no problem. I’m assuming he believes that the Catholic church is a good and faithful church and that the money collected (which he will present in offering to the Lord) will be used for good works. Do you think he will be able to bow or some other equally reverant gesture to the altar/tabernacle?
 
I have not posed that questioin to him. I really think he is confused religiously right now. He does not practice his own religion, yet he hangs on to the fundemental differences between our beliefs. With that said, my husband does come to church with me and our daughter and foster son. He also has no qualms with praying with us at meals and bedtime. He even reads From the Catholic Bible to our kids. I believe that he respects my religious beliefs.
