I did not get to go to Good Friday services I have a ride to Easter Sunday my Family is not Catholic and told me there was no reason to go other than Easter Sunday They all took a distant cousin some where I think some kind of meeting that he is required to go to I asked them If they coukd drop me off at the parish that is having good friday services at 5:30 this evening but they said that there was only enough room in the car for four people and these four people have already been out of the house today I have only been outside to get the mail. Any ideas on how to feel better about this.

If you are relying on someone else to give you a ride, this kind of this is bound to happen sometimes. This kind of circumstance will change once you get your own ride.

Can you get public transport or a taxi? And in future see if the Parish organises ride sharing to Mass. ?

Invite your family to come to Mass with you. Let them see why it’s important for you to be there on these special days.

I live with the family members that I am referring to and they have no problem taking acousin of mine who was in jail for over two years to his meetings. the only reason they are refusing is because they are very anti Cathoolic and My medical condition will not let me drive anymore.

It is a very small town and the parish does not have any thing like that.

I did not get to go to Good Friday services
Offer it up as a sacrifice. I am going to miss most of my favorite parts of the Triduum this weekend (especially the Vigil!) because I have the duty on for the elderly frail matriarch. I hope that I will have many more opportunties to participate when she no longer needs our care.

I have sympathy for you. I have had to miss parts of the Triduum due to relatives before. Today I had to miss Good Friday service because of work.
It’s frustrating - - I know. Try to enjoy the good things - - God doesn’t expect you to get there if you simply cannot.
Try to spend a little quiet prayer time, and maybe next year it will work out better.
I hope you have a Blessed Easter season!

I have done that and they refuse to go with me I did get to go to Holy Thursday. They feel that veneration of the cross is idolatry my cousin he does take me to saturday evening mass and picks me up afterward I come from a pentecostal church of god background

Pentecostal. Ahhh…

Veneration of the Cross isn’t idolatry.

Pray for your family and be thankful for your cousin who takes you to Saturday Evening Mass.

My mother used to be a Protestant. She wasn’t anti-Catholic or anything. But she didn’t realize we had more than Sunday services. But she learned and is now Catholic herself.

You can watch the services from Rome via the internet. I know it isn’t the same, but it might help a little with missing the services.

Thank you for the kind reply and I almost have to beg sometimes. The cousin that was in jail feels that I should not be on disability for my type one diabetes and drawing a pension from when I worked The cousin that takes me to Saturday evening mass is not the one that was in jail he is the grandfather of the one that was in jail.

Oh yes!! I watched the Passion Liturgy today on EWTN! The sung Gospel was amazing!

The Way of the Cross is on tonight and they are doing a Passion Narrative as well.

If you can see the local schedules you should be able to find everything. My iPad lets me check other locations as well, so in Europe, for instance, they are broadcasting the Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion again tonight.

Thank you for this information THey called and told me that they are at wendys but that They are not bringing me back anything because I should have known better than to join the Catholic Church My cousin called afterwards and told me that he would bring me back a full meal I am exempt from the fast and abstinance be ause of my type one diabetic issues.

During a very difficult time, a confessor offered me some advice I’ve always held to - when you feel like you are being treated unfairly or unjustly, and you’re finding it difficult, reflect on Jesus’s experience on the cross and how even as He was suffering, He asked God to forgive those who were torturing Him. Join your suffering with His, and ask Him to help you by giving you the strength you need to push on.

This is why, unless you are a minor, you need your own transportation…

I will try but it seems that this cousin is always allowed to do whatever he wants and can ask for anything and he will get it even though he spent two years in jail for a felony and is still waiting for a trial and I am really going stir crazy The cousin that was in jail said that the fact that I now I know how he felt being cooped up in jail.l

I just came back from a walk The nearest parish is about a mile away I think I will be able to walk to it next time. So I will be able to do that for the next Holy day
