Both of those are true statements. no one called her a whore.

well at least they got that right. but what was the basis that the abortion woman did it for a “great secular life of money”. Such baseless accusations reminds me of Jesus’ crucifixion.

That was the story as told by the OP-stating how much money she went on to make becuase she killed her child. Again a statment of fact-not a casting of stones. You may want to validate unacpetable behavior, i di not.

It was the person telling the story who stated that the woman went on to get rich because she had chosen to abort (implication being that women who choose to give birth will consquently become poor).
 
We are busy enough killing the people that are on this world already. If we can’t be concerned enough to address that problem, we’ll never be concerned enough to address the problem of abortion.

The baby probably died before blood cells developed. Implantation occurs between 5-6 days. Blood cells start being produced around day 13.

I agree. Many seem to pick and choose which form of killing is acceptable. There are all sorts of excuses. Some say that Abortion is worse because the baby is innocent.

I think war and capital punishment is worse, because this type of killing takes away any opportunity for reform and reconciliation. Babies don’t need this opportunity.

Now don’t get me wrong. I don’t believe in any form of killing.

What of her? The rain falls on the poor as well as the wealthy. Good thing her mother let her live at all to even go to medical school.

Is human life really that insignificant even to a Jew? The spilling of blood or seed is significant in the Torah is it not?

What offended you?

That I pointed out you suggest the ends justify the means? That success or failure is not always relavent to personal actions? That I find it strange that Jews would be so indifferent to the creation and protection of human life? Or that I said the word Jew in a religious forum at all?

Maybe it was my question about the Torah and what God says about the spilling of blood or seed?

I’m not sure what you would take offense at unless you feel guilty about something. It isn’t like I said you kick dogs for fun or anything. You never struck me as someone so thin skinned. I will apologize for underestimating you.

Let me rephrase my point then.
Your hypothetical is without merit and unsupported by reason or logic. To avoid responsibility for her actions, the young girl made a wonderful life for herself because of the purposefull but unwarranted death of her baby. I don’t blame her as much as I do you because she is a young girl and you are an adult and you give bad advice. I blame the unmentioned father for shirking his responsibility, maybe her parents and I blame society for making this elective surgery a ‘compassionate choice’ for ending new life.

If ending a life is ok because it makes yours uncomfortable, why can’t I shoot my neighbor for bothering me without any consequence? Is my only prohibition that he can call the cops or shoot me back if I miss?

Maybe I should have turned the other cheek or given you my cloak as well rather than confront you. Except it never meant passivity. It means justice and fairness and humility. All these things are denied a willfull terminated life in the womb. How can a precious gift at birth be wholly (unholy) dismissed any time before birth?

I have not struck your cheek or taken your cloak. I have rebuked your callous position and can defend myself for it. A 1 month old fetus’ has a beating heart that has harmed no one, has no voice yet to call for help, and is defenseless. If the unintended brusing of your ego stops you from thinking abortion is a viable alternative to giving every human life every opportunity to live is the result- it is well served. If it does not stop you from thinking that maybe a purposefull ego brusing might. We’ll see how things go.

So I still lost a life then ?? Wow, that has made me kind of sad, as I was under the impression I hadnt as doctors told me there was no foetus present.

I am am surprised because you are a Jew that you take such a position. Yes, I equate the treatment of the unborn today much like the undesirable of generations past. I will fight the pro-death ideology with pro-life ideology. The danger of a society or state that has determined one or more elements of the population are undeserving of protection of life should be brought to light and opposed. I don’t need to ask a priest for such a determination regarding your sensibilities. I asked a pertinent question that has remained unanswered about the Torah.
