Non-Catholics, if Jesus returned today

Well, assuming the hypothetical that Jesus did return, it would be pretty cataclysmic. Basically everyone on earth would see Jesus all that the same time coming from the sky with a loud sound. It would be something huge and spectacular that would begin final judgement. It is not like people can just walk away saying, Ok. People would feel the crazy emotions that would come about if they saw a giant meteor coming out of the sky to decimate the earth.

It will be a huge thing, something so loud and big that it cannot be ignored. Like the red sea parting, mountains jumping into the sea huge.

So in this hypothetical situation, where Jesus is real and there is a 2nd coming which would affect the whole earth, the hypothetical is also set that he is the only God.

If you asked me a hypothetical question about the pagan gods being real and showing up and proving without a doubt, hypothetically, that they are the gods and there is no Jesus, my honest answer is that I would weep and cry like a child in the fetal position in sadness, because I would not want to be alive is Jesus is not real.

that is my honest scenario if your pagan gods are real and Jesus is not God. I would weep and probably want to die right there and then.
 
If He said it was Eastern Orthodox then I probably wouldn’t be terribly surprised… If He said it was something else then I may well fall out of my seat (which would probably happen when I first saw Him anyway) and feel very betrayed that He didn’t lead me in the right direction while I was looking for answers. I so saw Catholicism as the logical actualization of his “church” based on the evidence.
 
Here is a good indication to know that it is the real Jesus that returned at the 2nd coming. This stuff is pretty hard to avoid:

oel 2:30 And I will give wonders in the heavens and on the earth, Blood and fire and pillars of smoke.
Joel 2:31 The sun will be turned to darkness, And the moon to blood, Before the great and dreadful day of the Lord comes.

Matthew 24:29 Now immediately after the tribulation of those days, THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL FROM HEAVEN, AND THE POWERS OF THE HEAVENS WILL BE SHAKEN.
Matthew 24:30 And at that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the nations of the earth will mourn. And they will see the SON OF MAN COMING UPON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory.

2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will disappear with a roar, and the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and the works in it will be burned up.

Oh in the case.

Just switch Jesus for Pagan Gods an that would be my answer. Of course I’d be weeping forever and burning as well. You dear Firstmode would have nothing to fear of eternal torment.

IF Jesus returned today and said that the Catholic Church is NOT the true Church…

first, I would make sure it’s really Jesus. Because it could very likely be the enemy.

IF it is Jesus for real…than I’d ask Him to forgive me for making the wrong choice, and tell Him that I’m willing to accept His truth.

But seriously, I believe that Jesus would say that the Catholic Church IS the true Church 🙂 I’m fairly certain, cause that is what I believe… and if He does, I’ll just be glad and thank Him for leading me here

Reminds me of a story I’ve told here before, about how the televangelist who was going on and on about how the bible was the word of God, perfect and all anybody ever needed. He held the book up and said “If Jesus Christ HIMSELF came down and told me that something in this book was wrong, I’d turn my back on Him and hold to the book.”

I don’t know whether these two attitudes are symptoms of pure faith, or the most unholy stubbornness ever described.

Not to belabor the obvious, but you are, of course, not serious. You need to put emoticons in there to indicate this, y’know…we can’t hear the dry tone of voice that is ordinarily used to deliver such pronouncements. 😉
 
I think my first response would be something like this:

“Well, ****. I haven’t had much luck with any of those religions out there and I really don’t care about who’s right and who’s wrong, but they say that you like to eat at sinner’s homes, so how 'bout you come over and have a beer and some bbq ribs.”
