I tend to follow the Tridentine calendar.Correct me if I’m wrong–doesn’t the Christmas season officially end with the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord (this year on January 10)? That’s when I usually take down all the Christmas decorations…
The Feast of the Baptism of the Lord is found on the octave day of Epiphany – January 13th. We’ve never kept up our decorations that long though.
From the New Marian Missal:
“On January 6, she (the Church) commemorates the adoration of Jesus by the Maji, (Epiphany), with which Octave the Christmastide closes.”
As always, I’ll keep my decorations up until Epiphany (January 6th).
Merry Christmas, Reg.
