At first yes, but when i attended their service i feel more welcome its really different from where i used to mass before, but really for me converting is really a hard choice that i really need to think about, i want to convert because thats what i feel to improve myself spiritually not just for some guy, 😓

You can grow closer to God in the Catholic Church.

When did you last go to confession or communion or Adoration, or Mass.
God gifts us grace to have faith and for growth in faith.

And what do you truly believe

Does the Church of Christ believe it also.

Don’t they believe

in the Book of Mormon

Oppose all war

The Scripture is not complete,

Sola Scripture

And lastly they believe this
  1. We believe a temple will be built in this generation, in Independence, Missouri, wherein Christ will reveal himself and endow his servants whom he chooses with power to preach the gospel in all the world to every kindred, tongue and people, that the promises of God to Israel may be fulfilled.
Do you.?

They believe that will be the new Jerusalem of Biblical teaching

Maybe i missed something, but did they say they were Church of Christ, Temple Lot? That’s a pretty tiny sect of about 7000. The garden variety Church of Christ people numbers in the millions, and are quite different indeed- objectionable for different reasons and pretty much hardcore bible thumping fundamentalists.

Thanks Augustinian,
I cannot find the words Temple lot on that web site. It’s a bit deceptive if representing the entire C of C in its title. For those who are not familiar with the religion.

To the op , are you a Patty or a Patrick?

This happened to me too when I was your age. I had never studied my faith, did not feel connected to the Sacraments or the Mass. I had not read the Bible or developed a prayer life for myself, and I felt like I was spiritually starving.
Feeling sorry for you. It is most painful to leave one’s faith.
It does not sound like the OP ever really embraced the One Faith.

I do understand all the things you are feeling. I felt that way once myself when I was young. However, I also recognized that despite how I felt, I wanted to know what was true. I began studying the Church and reading more. I especially began reading books written by those who converted from various Protestant churches to the Catholic Church.

I figured I better check out what drew them to the Church from their churches, which I was considering joining, before I left. Seeing the Church through their eyes and having them point out how they never knew the fullness of truth in their old denomination until they began studying what the Church really taught and how a lot of things made so much more sense to them, helped me to see how I had never even begun to scratch the surface of the depth and breadth of what the Church had for me in terms of spiritual wealth or what it means to be a part of this universal Catholic Family that is joined in the communion of saints of not only those of us on earth now but those in Purgatory and those in Heaven as well.

The first book I read was Rome Sweet Home by Scott Hahn. I highly recommend you read it before you leave the treasures of the Church that you most likely haven’t discovered yet. Once you do, you will never want to leave no matter how your feelings shift here and there throughout the years.

That’s what I thought though I couldn’t tell her that without appearing to know what’s in her mind.

Perhaps she should give it a try to delve into the Catholic faith deeper or get some advices from people in the parish or a priest. It’s better of course, if she can have regular sessions, if she has not done that already.

I would have benefitted by going to RCIA. I suffered a very poor catechesis, and kind of starting over exploring the faith into which I was baptized from the beginning might have helped. As it was, by the grace of God I was finally prayed and studied back into the Church founded by Christ, so we can pray that if such a decision is made, God will protect the hapless person making it.

It is a fact that non-Catholic Christians seem to be better at making disciples and “growing in faith” than most Catholic parishes. At my local parish, there are ZERO opportunities available for an adult who wants to “grow in faith”. This is a tragedy.

You shouldn’t make a decision like this based on emotion. Perhaps you feel a certain way, but (and this will sound blunt) that shouldn’t matter. God wants you in the Church He founded and no other. If you feel something in the new church that you don’t feel in your current one, the solution could be as easy as changing parishes or attempting to make the change you want to see in your current one. Conversion won’t benefit your soul- the opposite is actually true.

Think: what did Jesus teach? Does this new church teach what Jesus did (consider all of their teachings)? Are they not teaching something that Jesus taught? You have to take a “scholarly” approach to something like this and not let emotions get in the way.

Patrick is what it says.

I think Patrick is a he.

The Mormons believe in the Book of Mormon, not the non-denominationals (unless I’m missing some context)

Patrick or pattyy explains on another 2 recent threads they met a man and his Church, the C of C requires his partner to be c of c. That’s where I took the premise for this discussion, and asked

Feelings tend to be irrational.
The truth is, you get closest to God in the Catholic Church. We have the Eucharist and all the Sacraments.
Read some spiritually edifying works of the saints.
