You’ll be dragged into various Protestant heresies and drift further from God, not closer.

I double clicked the username as Patty had two y’s and saw the name Patrick so I am assuming the OP is male.

Thanks Augustinian,

I cannot find the words Temple lot on that web site. It’s a bit deceptive if representing the entire C of C in its title. For those who are not familiar with the religion.
The OP didn’t say anything about the tiny Temple Lot sect in this or her other post.

I think the assumption that its the mainstream CofC, which is quite large with millions of communicants, is a good one to make.

In any event, I never met a Temple Lot-ite LDS schismatic, so I’d have no comment on that. I don’t know how cultic they are or anything. I do know a little about mainstream CofC people.

OP, most of learning about God happens outside of services. I recommend you read some Catholic literature. The intellectual tradition of the Church is too good not to explore. Everyone here would be happy to make recommendations if you wish.

If it is a guy that this is all about. Jesus said that anyone who loves anybody more than Jesus is not worthy of Him.
the second thing, I understand that the “non-denominationals” may seem to be more fiery about their faith, and it may seem to be easier to grow spiritually there. I myself attended such services but never stopped being a catholic. If you feel that you are benefiting from them you may attend, but on the same time pursue Jesus as he gives himself to you in the catholic church. For instance, the Eucharist. Jesus said that if you eat my flesh and drink my blood you will have eternal life. The Catholic church believes that the Eucharist is the true flesh and blood of Jesus. No protestant or non-denominational church believes so, and even if they did belive it would not be true for them because only priests with proper anointing can celebrate Eucharist.
Basically, if you leave the catholic church to join something else you will be leaving the church that Jesus instituted in order to join a church created by men. So in reality the Catholic Church is the only non-denominational church because it is made by God himself… all the other churches are denominational because they base their teaching in their own interpretation, and they are all created by men, e.g. Luther, Zwingli, Pastor XYZ…etc.
May God bless you and enlighten you to follow him in His church!

I have found that those who support me in my faith the most aren’t necessarily those who share it and I personally don’t see anything wrong with practicing your faith and getting the support you need elsewhere.

Please don’t go! I know the Church may seem cold and distant at times. But remember that Protestants do not have Jesus in the Eucharist! He is in the Tabernacle and wants you to receive Him, in order to nurture your soul. Remember that faith isn’t about your feelings or what you get out of it. It’s about what we give to God in our daily lives, our prayers, and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Do you really want to leave all of this behind?

Is this about that guy who can’t be with you unless you join his church

Exactly! There are pious people who are protestant because they’re were born into it or were lead astray, but the point is that they’re pious despite being protestant.
Protestantism itself is chaotic, heretical and even demonic.

I’ve been thinking of converting from catholic to non-denominational christian, i’ve been attending their service and i feel like i could learn more about God and improve myself spiritualy, i’ve attended catholic church before but i feel not connected to it.
you really think you can Learn more about God going in that direction?

Here’s some information for you to consider.

your salvation depends on this. Not my words but from Jesus. Jn 6:53-58 RSVCE - So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, - Bible Gateway

When He starts out with truly truly unless you…, it’s all hands on deck.

“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you; 54he who eats τρώγων http://bibleapps.com/greek/5176.htm my flesh σάρκα http://bibleapps.com/greek/4561.htm and drinks πίνων http://bibleapps.com/greek/4095.htm my blood αἷμα http://bibleapps.com/greek/129.htm has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55 For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. 56 He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats me will live because of me. 58 This is the bread which came down from heaven, not such as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live for ever.”

Q:'s
  1. What part of that teaching from Jesus sounds like a suggestion and NOT a command that must be done?
  2. What part of that command from Jesus can one disobey and think they are okay with Him?
  3. Those are all conditional statements with serious consequences if one doesn’t do what’s required. Which means the condition must be met if one wants a good outcome for their soul
Protestants don’t have the Eucharist because None of them regardless of stripe, have valid holy orders. Therefore, they have no valid priesthood , No valid Eucharist, so they can’t fulfill those commands by Jesus .

This is just one of many commands that go with the “obedience of faith” and “one’s salvation”, that you are walking away from…
