Sure. Her home is a Private Association of the Faithful and we are permitted to visit there and pray, and also she is up for sainthood.

We just have to be careful about discussing unapproved private revelations on the forum, because right now the apparitions to her fall in that category.

There are plenty of stories of appearences of Padre Pio. But I don’t think any are officially recognized as of yet.

I heard a story from Uruguay for example, of a monk who was dying in hospital. The other monks wanted t come to him to offer the sacrament of Last Rites but they couldn’t come as there was a terrible storm.

Neverthless, a monk walked into the hosital, and prayed with the dying monk, heard his confession, and provided the Last Rites and stayed with him until he died. Then he left.

When the other monks from the monastery arrived some hours later, their brother was dead. They regretted that they hadn’t come faster and hadn’t been able to offer the Last Rites. But the nurse told them not to worry and that one of their number had already been there and done that. But they thought this was strange as all monks were accounted for. So they assumed maybe it was a monk from another monastery who had just been passing through and arrived there by accident.

It was only some time later that the nurse saw a photo of Padre Pio and procliamed that was the monk she had seen.

Yes, I’ve heard so many stories like that about Padre Pio. Another of my very favorite Saints!!

Thanks, guys. To everyone who’s mentioned Fatima, I had heard that the Virgin Mary had appeared there, but I didn’t realize anyone else had also appeared along with her. Keep it up, I am learning a lot! 🙂

What is the bar for granting official approval to an apparition? I assume it can’t contradict scripture, or other things agreed upon by all Christians (eg, the Trinity). Anything else?
