I hate you all because you are normal.

Why is it you are able to do the simplest thing and I am not? Why is it I can’t go to Mass and not have people stare at me? What have I done?

You can’t answer, can you? Yet you will claim that you have done nothing wrong, fine, you haven’t, I would stare, too.

I just want to receive the Sacraments, leave me alone, please.

What ever you do, be normal.

:console: there’s positively no such thing as normal, hun, however hard people try to appear to be so. It’s like ducks swimming in water - on the surface you see graceful gliding, underneath the feet are pedalling like crazy to keep steady.

I know I for one find many many things difficult to do that others seem to find easy. And yes, those who find it easy can at times be cruel to those who don’t. I’ve had - well not staring - but sarcastic comments and such.

At the same time I have my own unique abilities, and I’m sure you do too, capabilities that many other people would love to have - and they even tell me so sometimes.

<<Why is it I can’t go to Mass and not have people stare at me? What have I done? >>

And where did you get the idea other people stare at you. Do you really think you are so important to them?

Maybe if you concentrate more on Jesus in the Eucharist you will not notice what others are doing.

They are not staring at you, they are staring at ME - I’ve never been and will never BE “normal”. People stare and gawk at me everywhere I go, every day. I have pseudoachondroplastic dwarfism, they really ARE staring at me 🙂

It takes prayer and trust in God to reach up and embrace your cross. I also remember, if Jesus needed help to carry His cross, I should never be so proud not to accept the help offerd to me.

Signed, kage - the abnormal one.

I know some people stare at me when I walk past the cup without drinking. There are those who feel communion is not complete without the cup. But Jesus knows I am a recovered alcoholic, and gives me all I need, and more then I need, in the host

In all honesty, I feel dreadfully lost, hence, the name, lostone. God how I envy the normal people who can go to Mass. I don’t want you to feel sorry for me, and I seriously doubt you can help. I came here because I needed to.

Envy is a sin, isn’t it? Tell me, Father, what prayer should I say to purge my soul of envy?

And Kage_ar, you are a very strong person.

Most people are no more than 50% normal, if they say they are totally normal they are lying.

So all those folks in the pews are not ‘normal’. Normal is a phrase statics like to use as well as psychologists, but you look at anyone and they are all odd and their thoughts when verbalised can be odder still!🙂 Everybody is a bit odd. What’s normal for one is not normal for another.

So the reason you don’t go to Mass has nothing to do with being this elusive thing called being ‘normal’.

If you want to go to Mass, go and see the Priest and discuss with him about going to Mass and the thoughts you have that are detering you from going. If you talk this through with him I am positive you will find you are not so ‘abnormal’ as you seem to think you are and will better come to understand what it is that deters you and therefore be able to overcome these emotions that are detering you.

Life is good and you are a decent person and no worse or better than the other people in the pews at Church, anything that or anyone who has you thinking different to this is simply not true.

You are in the Living Prayer of my life
